- PERFORMANCE OF PACKAGE ALLOCATION IMPROVEMENT
Some packages experience higher CPU times and Latch Counter (LC25) when compared with a prior release of DB2. Packages that have very short running SQL statements or that issue frequent Commits and they are bound release commit may have increased CPU time when compared to a prior release of DB2. Also Latch Class 25 contention may increase in a multi-thread environment where there are a number of threads accessing the same package.
DB2 code was modified so that some of the code is no longer executed under the latch. This reduces the latch contention.
Some of the code was moved to a service task to reduce the CPU time required for packages that have a very short
running SQL statements or that issue frequent commits.
