About the Speakers:
Mark Maglana is the Senior Director for Product Development of Morphlabs, Inc. He is a student of product management, tech startups, business model design, business incubation, software development, agile principles, running, and life.
Diane Suico is a Philippine IT industy advocate. She has been with DevCon since its inception and served as the Executive Vice President of DevCon Foundation in 2010-2011. She was also the Marketing Program Director of the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) in 2009-2010.
Nelanie Nimis is a Computer Engineering graduate from the University of San Carlos. She progressed from a software developer and part-time System Administrator to Project Manager. She was involved in the product development of MaestroDev's Maestro 3 and is currently working on Exist's Interactive projects.
Joanne "Joed" Eduardo is an economics-marketing graduate who went down and dirty into software engineering in order to become a more effective IT Project Manager. Knowledgeable in CMMI but specializing in Agile Methodologies such as Scrum, XP and Lean. She is currently the project manager for Morphlabs' engineering teams.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ANDROID TRAINING ATTENDEES
All laptops should be prepared prior to attending the event.
- Must have good grasp on programming with at least the Java Standard Edition
Supported Operating Systems
- Windows XP (32-bit), Vista (32- or 64-bit), or Windows 7 (32- or 64-bit)
- Mac OS X 10.5.8 or later (x86 only)
- Linux (tested on Ubuntu Linux, Lucid Lynx)
- GNU C Library (glibc) 2.7 or later is required.
- On Ubuntu Linux, version 8.04 or later is required.
- 64-bit distributions must be capable of running 32-bit applications.
- Eclipse 3.5 (Galileo) or greater (http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/)
- Eclipse JDT plugin (included in most Eclipse IDE packages)
- Several types of Eclipse packages are available for each platform. For developing Android applications, we recommend that you install one of these packages:
- Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
- Eclipse Classic (versions 3.5.1 and higher)
- Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers

- If using an Android phone instead of the emulator:

- Components must already be installed.
- If using an Android phone, install the SDK platform that best matches the version on your phone.

Participants will be able to create a game in two days using C++
Understand various programming concepts that are fundamental to making games:
- the game loop
- layer management
- vector math
- simple game physics
- input handling
- collision detection and response
This event is specifically for programmers who haven't had game projects before, or programmers who have attempted to learn it in the past, but found that without sufficient support and mentoring they were unable to connect all the pieces of these highly complex but exciting applications.
- laptop (we don't really need that beastly graphics power; a laptop without one will suffice)
- Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition installed (install VC++ 2008 Express and SFML http://www.sfml-dev.org/ beforehand; run a simple program and see if it works with your machine)
- notebook and pen
- basic C++ knowledge
- learning and listening mode
The game to be made in the bootcamp is very simple. Note that this boot camp focuses on the fundamentals. Don't expect to make the next Starcraft or MMO here. ;)
