You just need to obtain the tracking code from your preferred tracking system (in this case I used Google Analytics) and do the following:
- Go to My blog > Settings
- Click on Template and then on the Edit icon for Weblog, _footer or _header... During this exercise I used the _header template, but it's more commonly advised (and with supporting reasons) to include tracking codes at the bottom of an HTML document and not at the top as I did...
- Include the tracking code and Save
- The tracking code should now be seen on the "View Source" option of your browser when you navigate your blog.
- If your tracking code has been installed correctly, usually you'll start seeing data in your reporting system after 24 hours. The rest is to play with your Analytics tool to set filters, source definitions and differentiated URLs for specific campaigns. Enjoy!
