A well-oiled machine. A tightly coordinated football team. A highly choreographed Broadway musical.
Whatever metaphor you choose, it's effective collaboration like this that drives the Eclipse Foundation's annual project release, and this year's effort, Eclipse Helios, comprises 39 unique projects totaling 33 million lines of code. Indeed, this represents such a colossal amount of effort that it's a challenge just keeping track of it all! Why not get your bearings with our new tour of Eclipse Helios? Chris Aniszczyk's article provides an overview of the release, and focuses on several individual projects to show you the range of diversity and innovation going on inside the Eclipse ecosystem. And be sure to pay a visit to our Eclipse resource center (part of our Open source zone) for tools, how-tos, and updates to support all your Eclipse efforts.
Speaking of football, I wonder if the World Cup tournament has inspired (or impeded) Eclipse committers' efforts to meet their deadlines.
Until next week,
John Swanson and the developerWorks editorial team
