Gotta love the Apache Incubator. Not only is it a great place to check out up-and-coming open source software projects vying for full membership in the esteemed Apache Software Foundation, but it's also fun to see all of the creative new names being used for these projects -- names like Chemistry and Stonehenge and Wink. This week on developerWorks, we show how Apache Wink is much more than just a cute name; this implementation of the JAX-RS specification can be combined with the Eclipse IDE and the Maven project management tool (another cool name) to develop, deploy, and run RESTful Web services. This enables you to build interoperable, scalable, and reliable REST-based distributed hypermedia systems.
Some Incubator project names are more intriguing than others. Hmm... Wookie, Droids, Empire-db -- am I seeing a common theme here?
Until next week,
