This week's newsletter challenge: To report all of the major news and announcements from the Innovate 2012 conference in Orlando, Florida. The kicker? I didn't go.
Good thing I've got Internet access and a hardworking, insightful team of colleagues who have been on site all week for the software and systems event of the year. Of course, I can't possibly cover it all in this short space, but the developerWorks Innovate video portal is the perfect place to get started, with footage from across the conference. And don't miss Scott Laningham's video interviews -- thought-provoking conversations that run the gamut from real-time analysis to robotics.
Needless to day, it wouldn't be Innovate without a truckload of Rational announcements, so be sure to visit our dynamic Rational section. Mike Perrow's article gives you a high-level perspective on the newly launched IBM Rational products and services, and a new series of articles delves into the details of many of these products.
Sure, my teammates have enjoyed a fabulous week in sunny Orlando surrounded by IT thought leaders ... but they won't get to try the tuna salad I made on Tuesday. (Or was it Monday?) Their loss.
Until next week,
John Swanson and the developerWorks editorial team
