What a year! So much has happened around here, it's hard to keep track of it all. But that's what they pay me to do, so allow me to revisit a few highlights...
Of course, IBM turned 100 so we glanced back on our first century before diving into our second. The Watson supercomputer dominated Jeopardy! and then got itself a real job. Here on developerWorks, we rolled out a robust series of knowledge paths to help you hone your skills, and we launched a new resource area focusing on the IBM i operating system. The new IBM Champion program started recognizing IBM enthusiasts in the technical community who aren't on our payroll. Our annual Tech Trends Survey shed some more light on where the IT industry is headed. And 2011 was the year the developerWorks community garnered its one millionth user profile! (You've got one, right?)
Sure, there was more -- tons more (which is impressive, considering the fact that we were celebrating), and you can expect even more surprises in the year ahead. We'll be back in January with our list of the most popular developerWorks resources of 2011. In the meantime, I hope you get a chance to review the highlights of your year as you make your transition into 2012.
