A word of warning about this week's top feature: Once you start playing with the Google+ API, you may find it difficult to stop.
Vikram Vaswani's article shows you how to extract content from the Google+ social networking service and integrate it into PHP applications -- that's right, you can use the Google+ developer API to create custom apps that access user-generated content. This can be addictive stuff, if you're the type of developer who is prone to spending hours (and hours) tinkering with cool new web technologies. But if you think you can handle having the ability to integrate public Google+ content into any application, including mashups and customized interfaces, then go ahead and explore this fertile landscape. Otherwise, you'll find a range of articles in the list below that are helpful and engaging, but probably won't keep you up past midnight.
Then again, I'm not making any promises.
Until next week,
