Making the jump from conventional monitoring to monitoring with predictive analytics is now easier. The SmartCloud Analytics - Predictive Insights development team have created a new tutorial to help you get started.
The tutorial is a quick and easy way to follow the steps required to configure SmartCloud Analytics - Predictive Insights and to view examples of the anomaly results it generates. The tutorial artefacts include an anonymized sample data set derived from a production environment. The data set provides realistic source data for the tutorial exercises.
After you have installed and configured SmartCloud Analytics - Predictive Insights, the tutorial steps through the process of creating and deploying a data model. IBM SmartCloud Analytics - Predictive Insights consumes a portion of the sample data set to build a profile of what constitutes normal system behavior, which we call the data model. This data model then serves as a reference against which the rest of the sample data set is evaluated and is the means by which anomalies are identified.
The tutorial walks you through the alarms that are generated based on the anomalies observed within the sample data and provides a narrative of how to analyze and interpret these alarms. The tutorial then goes on to show a specific example of how the system displays consolidated alarms when multiple anomalies are detected on the same source system. The tutorial concludes with details of how data is consumed and flows through the system.
