In IBM SmartCloud Analytics - Log Analysis (Version 1.2) a new innovative application is delivered called Expert Advice, which greatly enhances the root cause analysis and corrective action capabilities of this analytics product. Expert Advice is a new custom application that allows the user from within the IBM SmartCloud Analytics - Log Analysis user interface the ability to search the IBM Support Portal for information on log record fields. The application allows the user to get search results details (for example, references to related Tech-notes and troubleshooting information) that can assist with problem resolution and root cause analysis for the issues that created the original log message or messages. Therefore, from within the IBM SmartCloud Analytics – Log Analysis user interface you can move from strong error detection and problem analysis to quickly isolating the root cause and corrective actions needed to fix the core issue.
The IBM SmartCloud Analytics – Log Analysis documentation has now been updated with a detailed description on how to add a customized knowledge source for the Expert Advice application so the user can also search runbooks or other data sources. Please refer to the following link:
