Now is the time to invite educators to attend Big Data & Analytics EdCon 2014 on Saturday and Sunday, October 25 & 26, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA preceding the IBM Insight 2014 conference.
Big data skills are not only in short supply, but the roles and needed skills require new programs, new degrees, new thinking. IBM, Ryerson University (Canada), and the University of Derby (UK) are sponsoring the Big Data and Analytics Educational Conference 2014 (BDA EdCon 2014) to explore the curricula changes required to close the big data skills gap. On Saturday, attendees will have the opportunity to choose from different “Teach the Teacher”educational sessions, offering hands on experience with select solutions from IBM’s big data and analytics portfolio. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday, participants will be able to listen to sessions on the future of big data and analytics in the classroom and beyond. Monday through Friday, they can attend Insight 2014 where they can hear keynotes, talk with industry leaders and promote their school and students.
Take advantage of this opportunity to reach out to a wide range of educators from business, information systems, math & stats & machine learning, computer science, cognitive sciences, journalism, or any other university program interested in big data & analytics curricula (frankly every program is impacted by big data and analytics in some way):
· Undergraduate and graduate professors
· Post-graduate students
· Department heads
· Personnel from non-profit & governmental education organizations
· Delegates from high schools & community colleges
· Delegates from for-profit educational organizations
There is no better opportunity to meet others involved in building big data & analytics curricula. Encourage your clients to stay for Insight 2014 to meet IBM experts, customers and partners who will be hiring the talent produced by our education partners. A detailed BDA EdCon2014 schedule will be posted on the agenda website once it is confirmed.
