How can MQ configuration agent product discover only a subset of the queue managers present on a system? For security purposes, when more than one WebSphere MQ environments coexist on the same system, you may be interested in configuring the MQ Configuration agent product (KMC) so that only some of the queue managers created on the system may be discovered and so managed by the product. When you install and start the KMC agent on a system and you run the Discovery procedure on the Configuration view on TEP, all the queue managers present... [More]
This blog entry is about a problem that was found recently when monitoring data from "Queue Handle Status". It may happen that you have a lot of queues and you want to filter them by name, anyway when you do this for queries on table "Queue Handle Status" using "Return a subset of the string" or "Scan for string within a string", no data are returned. This has been recognized as a code defect and will be fixed in APAR IV83641. Anyway as a workaround, for a situation or query against this table that... [More]

There is an issue with the new resigned Jar files and Java 5.0 running on ITM 6.2.3 . After resigning Jar files check that the JRE in-use is the correct version as Java version 5.0 dose not work. Where you have ITM 6.2.3 still running with JRE 5.0, you will need to update the JRE to version 6.0 or later. If you have more than one version of Java running then follow the steps below to select the correct Version of Java to run. 1. Go to Start -> Control Panel and Start the Java control Panel Applet. 2. Select the Java tab... [More]

Hello again folks, For this bitesize blog we've got a useful tip for ITM situations, specifically those using the "MISSING" function, which can be a bit thorny. Specifically, we're looking into an issue where a situation using the "MISSING" function does not fire as expected when it's been set up to monitor two items with similar names. The explanation behind this is that ITM framework uses the SQL1 language, which is broadly similar to standard SQL, but not exactly the same which is what... [More]
Hello folks, So this is the first in a new series of mini-blogs where I'll post any useful tips/tricks/hints I come across that I think could benefit you.
