About the Speakers:
Paul Ruocchio is a Senior Engineer in the Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure product group. In his current role, he is the product architect/lead developer for SmartClout Monitoring - Application Insight. Paul joined IBM in 1989, and has spent his entire IBM career working in network and systems management. Where he has held design and or technical lead roles, in LAN Systems, Token Ring management, SystemView, Netview6000, OS/2, Tivoli ITDirector, Retail Store Solutions, and now Tivoli again. He has done extensive standards work as an active participant in IEEE 802.1, and ANSI, participating in the creation and passage of several management standards. He was one of the founders of the DMTF, an organization responsible for a wide range of System Management standards, and was the Technical Chair of that organization for several years. While in IBM Retail Store Solutions, he was responsible for the systems management and security architecture for all of IBMs retail offerings from hardware through end solutions. Paul has also worked outside of IBM, working on hardware based http content switching technology. For fun he enjoys woodworking and restoring antique cars.
Todd Gatts is a Senior Programmer in the Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure product group, where he helps lead the development of SmartCloud Monitoring - Application Insight, with a special emphasis on the data path from agent to database to dashboard. Todd has led several projects in Tivoli including developing the Linux KVM agent and the Energy Management agent. Before working in Tivoli, Todd worked in IBM Global Services, and was the lead developer of IBM's x-Series business partner sales reporting and commissions system for US, Canada, India, Korea, and China. His kids think he's smart, and his wife likes him.
