The Warehouse Proxy agent provides a set of works spaces that are defined as “Manage Our Stuff With Our Stuff”(MOSWOS). IBM/Tivoli love acronyms and MOSWOS has been around a long time internally. But, it is a term that usually causes confusion for a user of ITM. This confusion extents further for the Warehouse Proxy agent in the sense that most users do not know that these MOSWOS workspaces exist. The Warehouse MOSWOS workspaces can be used to look for problems occurring in historical data collection. This post deals with ITM 6.2.2/6.2.3. In ITM 6.3.0 which just recently shipped a new set of situations and a new work space titled “Historical Collections Table” gives the ability to determine when an agent is failing to export.
There is a 'Configuration' set of workspaces that shows the state of the database connection, along with other configuration settings. And there is an 'Agent Registration' work space off 'Configuration' that shows what port the Warehouse Proxy agent is listening on for agent exports. The port is important to know when agents have problems connecting to the Warehouse Proxy agent.
The 'Work Queue Statistics' workspace can show when agents connected to the WPA are overrunning the WPA for export of rows to the database. The 'Current Queue Size' attribute will start to grow. If the 'Current Queue Size' reaches the 'Maximum Queue Size' then exports from agents will be lost. The 'Current Queue Size' can be changed with the KHD_
