Updates for the Java webstart client crash issues. ( Please refer my previous blogs - Java 6u65 Java 7u45 and updates )
The failure is caused by new security enforcement of JRE runtime parameters in Java Webstart deployed applications jnlp files. This security change was introduced with Oracle JRE 6u65 and JRE 7u45.
The APAR IV51394 is opened to resolve this problem and provisional fixes for the following releases are available since Friday, Nov 15th:
6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0001, 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0002, 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0003, 6.2.3-TIV-ITM-FP0004

8.0 Additional product information
Post patch installation\uninstall instructions.
1. Refer to section 5.1.6 for any customization that may have been done to the tep.jnlpt file before proceeding.
2. On linux/unix
After applying the IV51394 itmpatch the cw component at the teps needs to be reconfigured.
>./itmcmd config -A cw
Once the cw component reconfiguration completes, start the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Sever (cq component).
>./itmcmd agent start cq
After applying the IV51394 itmpatch the browser component at the TEPS needs to be reconfigred.
Open the "Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services" (MTEMS) dialog. Select the "Browser' component, right mouse click and select "Reconfigure". When the "Configure Tivoli Enterprise Portal Browser" dialog appears press the "OK" button. Once the reconfigure of the browser client is complete, restart the Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server.
Also required is the Java plugin jar cache be cleared on all desktops that run the Tivoli Enterprise Portal client. From windows control panel double click the Java icon that represents the Oracle Java 1.7.0u45 or later Java control panel. Select the "General" tab, press the "settings" button, then press the "Delete files" button to clear currently cached applications.
The next time the Tivoli Enterprise Portal client is started the newly patched jar files in this fix will be downloaded.
