Let’s figure out the answer to this interesting question. Remember the definition of word information. The information is derived by processing the data in a specific way. The more data you gather around your business, the chances to get more meaningful information are high. It is essential to understand the trend to stay competitive and stay ahead in any business.
Trend forecasting in there for ages but that has been based on linear analysis. When the business dynamics are changing every second, you can not afford to make decisions based on linear trending. You would require a nonlinear & dynamic analysis put in place to process the huge amount of data that is being generated every second.
Big data is nothing but the quintillion bytes of data gathered every day from every possible source. We require a very powerful tools & technology that can process such a massive amount of data in no time and apply the required analytics and produce the meaningful information in time. To stay ahead and competitive in the future, you won’t be able to disregard the information derived, while making your decisions and you can not say your intuition’s better than the people that have the big data. At the same time, it does not mean that there is no scope for human intellect
