The following troubleshooting tip describes how to determine the value of the platform variable when specifying directory paths as part of the installation of ITCAM for SOA version 7.1.1:
The problem: Cannot determine the value of the platform variable when specifying directory paths.
The solution: Throughout the Tivoli Composite Application Manager for SOA Installation Guide, reference is made to the platform variable, which is part of the Linux or UNIX directory path specification for certain files. For example, to run the Data Collector Configuration Utility, you must locate the ConfigDC script which is located in the directory <ITM
To find the value for the platform variable, complete the following steps:
1. Change to the ITM_Home/bin directory.
2. Enter the following command: ./cinfo -d
3. Locate the line for the product code iw in the command output. The platform value is in the Platform column. In the following example, the platform value is li6263:
"iw","IBM Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server Exte
The platform value in the cinfo command output varies depending on the operating system, the computer type, and the version of IBM Tivoli Monitoring that is installed.
