One of the common ways to get ITCAM for Application Diagnostics (WAS agent) Reports is to use the Managing Server Performance & Analysis feature. (See my earl
The TCR software is IBM SmartCloud's (previously called Tivoli) standard infrastructure for creating, viewing and managing Cloud Reports. The ITCAM for Applications Diagnostics provides TCR-based Reports enabling historical views of availability, performance and other monitoring-related data/metrics. You can also use the pre-packaged reporting functions or design your own custom reports. So if you do not have the MS and decide to use TCR, here are the basic steps:
* first download and install TCR - usually this is installed on your TEPS/TDW server, so if doing this, check memory and disk space requirements on your server.
* enable History Configuration on your WAS Agent, select the attributes you want history data collected on, and insert into the TDW (Warehouse db). You might need to allow for some time to pass so that history data is inserted into the Warehouse database over time.
* you will need to download and import the ITCAM for AD TCR Reporting package to get the pre-packaged reporting functions.
* login to your TCR portal and then pull standard Reports using the pre-defined packages.
Note that for successful reporting using the pre-packaged TCR reporting functions, you will need to first get historical data into the (TDW) Warehouse db. Otherwise, if there's not much data in the Warehouse db for the particular attribute of your WAS agent, you won't see much data in the Report or the Report will have no data for the time period chosen. Also, because History data is being stored, you should check the database space requirements periodically (or use the DB2 agent to do this) so as to not run into any space / performance issues with the growth of data in the database. This will impact the performance of pulling TCR Reports over time if the database gets very large.
