ITM Agent Insights: ITM CEC agent shows all LPARs show up as unmonitored

IBM Tivoli Monitoring CEC agent displays LPARs with an unmonitored status in Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) client. On, HMC V8R8.2.0 SP1 there are issues with CEC agent display in TEPS. The TEPS display can no longer get CPU shared pool information and all LPARs are show up as unmonitored. Using the the AIX topas -C command to get the information does not work. Is there issues with the new HMC 8 code or the ITM CEC Agent?

HMC V8R8.2.0 SP1 has problems running the lspartition command.

Run either of the following commands:

From the LPAR command line:

/usr/bin/ssh -l hscroot <FULL_HOSTNAME> "lspartition -c <CEC_FRAME>"

OR

On HMC directly:

lspartition -c <CEC_FRAME>

NOTE: Both the commands above will give errors.

The resolution will be provided by HMC support team directly. They will provide a fix to resolve this defect.

NOTE: Customer using the ITM CEC agent should switch over to using the HMC agent 6.2.2.3 as this agent combines the features of the old CEC and HMC agent.
