Abstract

ITM Agent Insights: Contents of the MANAGEDSYSTEM table and its effect on Operating System (OS) agent reports

Body

Sometimes while running the Operating system (OS) agent reports, they fail to list any servers in the Tivoli Common Reporting (TCR) portal. The following screen capture shows that while running a Single Resource CPU Utilization report none of the servers in the environment load in the "Resource Selection > Servers" panel. Sometimes a partial list of servers is seen and some of the newly added servers in the environment may be missing.

This occurs because the MANAGEDSYSTEM table is not populated either completely or partially. The servers listed under MANAGEDSYSTEM table are displayed under this field. To resolve this issue, check the contents of the MANAGEDSYSTEM table in the respective database to see if there are any servers listed.

1) Ensure the procedure to populate MANAGEDSYSTEM table is run while setting up reporting. The steps are described here:

2) Also make sure this procedure is run every time new servers are added in the environment. This ensures a comprehensive list of servers.

By implementing the documented steps, you should be able to retrieve the servers listed in your environment.
