ITM Agent Insights: ITM 6.x uninstallation and clean up using ITM Remove all tool on Windows systems

This Blog explains how to completely remove previous OMEGAMON and/or ITM 6.x installations on Windows Operating system.
Installation of ITM 6.x components may fail on Windows machines. There may be various reason, perhaps due to previously failed uninstall, or perhaps it is not possible to remove or uninstall ITM 6.x components from the "Uninstall or change program".
Run the attached ITM removal tool to removes ALL of the files in the specified install directory and removes ALL ITM product related registry entries. After running this tool, if the installation fails again, rerun the ITM removal tool once again. Then before attempting installations again, carry out the following steps as applicable for specific ITM components (TEMS, TEPS, Agents, etc...):
1. Manually remove the GSKit:
2. Afterwards verify that the following registry keys are gone (Start -> run -> regedit):
3. Make sure that GSKit is not in the path - if so remove and reboot
4. Drop the TEPS database (if created)
5. Delete the ODBC datasource (if applicable)
6. Run regedt32 (not regedit) and go to:
If there is a key PendingFileRename remove that key.
Then try the installation again.
If it fails again, with the same or a different symptom, then InstallShield and ITM installation logs must be analyzed to find the reason of the installation failure.
