Here are a few tips concerning the Rational Integration Support (RIS), also known as:
'ITCAM for Transactions v7.4 integration plug-in':
a) This RIS plug-in is only available on Windows OS. ITCAM for Transactions only supports with its RIS functionality (for the scripts upload to the AMC agent from RPT/RFT workbench recorder) a RPT/RFT environment installed on Windows OS.
b) RPT/RFT product may be installed /supported on other OS platforms, but because the RIS is only available on Windows OS, you then need to install and use RPT/RFT + RIS on Windows OS system; so you can then export test scripts via the ITM infrastructure environment to the AMC (Application Management Console / t3 agent).
c) There is no re-prequisite checking when installing the RIS using its installer setup.exe program. For that reason, if you have already a RIS plug-in installed, and are planning to install a new one, make sure that the new one's build id is higher, compared to the current RIS plug-in build id.
d) There are several ITCAM4Tx RT 7.4 IFixes or fixpacks currently available from IBM FixCentral and that includes the RIS installer, for upgrade purpose.
So it's always recommended to check first, if it's already installed, the current version of RIS installed, prior to upgrading it.
How to do that?
Start RPT/RFT workbench GUI, and select from the top menu options:
Help -> About RPT/RFT -> Installation Details -> Features, then select the Version column available here, to sort the installed features per version number, and scroll down to find the RIS plug-in, that is identified with
Provider = IBM Tivoli
Feature Name = ITCAM for Transactions
Version = 22.214.171.124 or 126.96.36.199
Here above, the RIS build id is : 201708210826, so dated 2017/08/21
says, for RIS:
When RIS of FP2 is applied on RPT,
That's good. Then go ahead and you can upgrade your current RIS with this new one.
Remark: As there is no prerequisite checker in the RIS installer, you may install RIS on an un-supported version of RPT/RFT, like above example....
To avoid this, always consult the ITCAM for Transactions Rational support Matrix document:
