Using ITCAM for Transactions 7.4 with ISM agent and LDAP monitor, you can set up a profile with one or several targeted servers, like below, and you can configure the description field with a value of your choice.
Now, if you are not seeing the same description values reported in TEP, under ISM "Elements" workspace, but something different like for example :
Default container for orphaned objects
Default location for storage of Microsoft application data
see example below :
Then it's very likely that you are encountering a known issue, as described in 7.4.
The solution is to install latest fixpack or Ifix available and that includes this APAR; currently it's recommended to upgrade your ISM agent to version 07.40.01.10 (18.104.22.168 IFix 0010), as it includes this APAR IV65580; follow ISM version 07.40.01.10 readme instructions.
Furthermore, you then need to edit manually on your ISM agent the following file :
and add in it a new line, like for example :
LDAPObjectPrefix : "LDAP_"
save the edited file, restart the ISM agent.
Without such line, the APAR fix is ineffective, and by default you will see in ldap.log :
Debug: LDAP Object Prefix set to ""
To resolve this issue, the new code takes into account a LDAPObjectPrefix property, which will prepend the value of the property to LDAP Object Attributes, but its setting by default is empty.
Remark : If you have custom rules files that directly use the names of LDAP Object Attributes, then the use of the LDAPObjectPrefix property will require you to re-validate and possibly update those custom rules files.
