When installing the IBM Performance Management V8.1.3 server you may run into issues and the need to un-install and clean up will be needed. You should follow the steps to perform a clean un-install of the server and other components.
- Run the following command in the /opt/ibm/ccm directory (or /custom_path/ccm if you installed the server in a different path):
The uninstaller checks for the Performance Management offerings that are installed and a message asks you to select which offering or offerings to uninstall.
- Review the list of installed Performance Management offerings and enter the number of the offering (or offerings) to uninstall or enter q (quit) to cancel the uninstall operation.
- Where you are performing a full uninstallation, delete the /opt/ibm/ccm or /custom_path/ccm directory.
The following example shows the uninstallation choices for two Performance Management offerings:
The following products are available for uninstallation:
1) IBM Application Diagnostics
2) IBM Monitoring
3) all of the above
Then perform these steps to clean up the DB2 entries
a. execute command: ps aux | grep db2
then kill all db2 processes running (kill -9 <processID>)
b. go to /home directory
remove all db2 users by command: userdel -r <username>
c. go to /var directory and remove directory /var/db2
d. edit /etc/services and remove all db2 services (last services in
this file, all prefixed "db2")
Once the above steps are complete you can proceed with the re-installation of the server
