Abstract

How EX agent evaluates Server Status attribute - CHANGES in v6.31.10

How EX agent evaluates Server Status attribute is still same but there was some changes in agent configuration. Before  6.3.1-TIV-ITM_MSAPP-FP0010 was released Exchange service had to be configured in 2nd tab of agent. After applying FP10 agent automatically set mandatory Exchange services based on Exchange server roles installed. My test system had CAS, HUB and mailbox roles installed and based on this below services are automatically set as Services Configured for Servers Status:

These default service cannot be unselected. Below popup is shown:

If additional services are required to be monitored for Server Status can be easily moved from left to right side. If you are interested how Server status was collected before FP10 read blog on below url:

Design Change:

6.3.1.10-TIV-ITM_EXCHG-IF0001 With this fix, using KEX_SKIPSERVICES environment variable, customer can skip particular services  for determining the server status. See below url for steps how to implement this variable:
