Another quick little APM one for you all today off the back off a case that was recently raised. We had a customer who was on APM 8.1.3 and was going to upgrade to 8.1.4 but was concerned that changes to default passwords they'd made would be rolled back in the upgrade. A fairly important question, for sure. Well, we don't have this specifically documented anywhere so I went to APM L3 and this is what they told me -
Passwords are not changed back to the default values on an APM 8.1.3 to APM 8.1.4 server upgrade or when you apply an APM server interim fix. When asked to provide a password during upgrade, you should provide the custom password that was already configured for APM 8.1.3. The only exception is the trust store password. So as with many things in ITM and APM, the answer is both yes and no at the same time. Hope this helps alleviate any concerns folks out there might have had about doing an upgrade!
