With Unix OS Agent running on AIX, you have some attributes that are IBM SystemP-specific, they are not available
As per other LPAR related metrics, also this attribute is collected directly from SPMI, no computation is performed on it.
Using the SPMI API, the agent performs a query for the object called LPAR/app, so the agent cannot show it wrong unless SPMI is already providing a wrong value.
AIX Admin likely already knows about it, but in case you need more information about it, you can follow below steps to compile and run it
1) You can compile the SPMILogger from source code SpmiLogger.c available into /usr
iii. Run binary spmilogger
2) When SpmiLogger is in execution, ask for LPAR/app
3) Terminate the process once you get 5 to 6 records in output by pressing Ctrl+C.
If you need C compiler you can refer to this developerWorks article to download and install it:
The above procedure can be used with any of the attributes collected using SPMI interface in case you want to validate the output received by the agent.
Hope it helps
