APM/IPM V8.1.x Offline Agents no longer in use and still show in the console...What to do?

So, you have an APM/IPM v8.1.x installation running and initially you configured some agents that you wanted to test out for monitoring. Now those agents are no longer being used since you have moved to the next phase of your implementation.

It has now been over 4 days and the offline agents remain showing in the APM/IPM console. How can I remove them?
If some of your agents have been offline for more than 4 days, they have not been added to an application or custom resource group, and are still appearing in the UI then you can force APM to remove them by performing these steps which requires the APM oslc component to be restarted:
1) Edit the <apm
2) apm stop oslc
4b) apm stop oslc
