A Brief Summary of AMC historical data collection
By default, Application Management Console (AMC) enables warehouse collection on its detailed tables but does not enable summarization and pruning. This causes AMC tables in the data warehouse to grow undesirably.
You can configure summarization and pruning via the Historical Configuration in a TEP client.
Be sure to prune all detailed data. The screenshot below shows an example of such a configuration. You can modify the number of days to keep the data according to your transaction load.
Additionally, you can choose to summarize data by enabling summarization. Enabling summarization creates a separate table in your data warehouse. For example, if you enable hourly summarization for "AMC Application", an "AMC_Application_H" table is created. This table contains hourly summarized data calculated from the detailed "AMC Application" table. Summarized tables are generally smaller in size and can be kept longer.
You can also automate the configuration by writing a script that uses the "tacmd histconfiguregroups" command. Follow the example in the ITM 6.3 documentation.
