I want to start discussing and demonstrating the types of applications that can be built using FEB. The initial list that I have provided is not exhaustive but its a great start to see what is possible. I posted one example with the page's creation and many more will follow! Check out the article to learn more about FEB application types!

We recently acquired IBM Forms Experience Builder which we are installing on AIX. Why does this demand root access to install? This should not be a requirement. I appreciate having "administrator rights for Windows installs" but not Unix installs. It would appear that the developers just didn't want to make the necessary changes to allow a non root install. This in our view is unacceptable and hopefully it will be fixed in the near future. Installing application software as root causes multiple teams to be involved not only of installation but also patching and creates a compliance and auditing nightmare for the AIX administration team. Please consider fixing this not just for this application, but for other applications birthed in the Window's world that you are transitioning to AIX..

I had someone reach out to me asking about how to create a table where the records could be rendered in pages rather then one long scrolling table. The good news is that this is much easier accomplished in version 8.5 then it was in version 8.0. I created a wiki article that contains a sample on how one might implement this. Check out Table Pagination if your interested.
Just a thought - but what about using this topic as a place where we can post and exchange information about customer success stories. I know of a number of situations where customers and BP's have FEB application in production or about to go into production. It would be great if the owners of those solutions were to share information about their experiences here so that the community could take advantage of this knowledge.
