There is an amazing convergence we are witnessing with big data and analytics in enabling new insights for decision making. At the same time, we need to augment traditional predictive analytics to react to data changes in real time, as they actually occur. There is still an elusive goal beyond simple recognition of events to provide a capability to sense, respond, and act in real time on an aggregated view of events and their relationship to other events and entities. The new Decision Server Insights offering in IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) Advanced V8.7 provides a solution that advances complex events processing to a new level with a foundation on a rich distributed architecture to enable real-time decision management.
