Once you log into your Storage Insights instance, you will be prompted to download and install the data collector. You will need to specify the storage resources that you want to monitor and analyze in the Storage Insights GUI. The data collector will then run in the background.

Storage Insights is priced according to the amount of storage that is being managed. The first 50 TB of managed storage costs $250 USD per month. You can purchase additional capacity in increments of 10 TBs; the cost for each additional 10 TB pack starts at $50, and decreases the more you purchase.

From the Configuration menu in Storage Insights, click Managed Capacity to check how much capacity Storage Insights is currently managing. You are notified when you exceed your capacity limit, and you are charged for overage until the capacity that is managed drops to your licensed capacity limit.

Yes. You can download multiple data collectors to connect to storage systems located in different data centers and gain insights into the asset, capacity, and performance data that is collected and analyzed in Storage Insights.

Storage system metadata is sent to Storage Insights, including information about: • The configuration of the storage system, such as name, firmware, and capacity • Subresources of the storage system • The performance of storage system resources and subresources such as pools and volumes.

Currently, you can collect performance data every 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, or 60 minutes. You can configure the collection schedule when you add the storage resource or after you add the storage resource.
