Level 1

IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Contributor

The IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Contributor badge earner is an external community member who is passionate about IBM zSystems and LinuxONE and wants to make a positive difference. This individual has expressed interest in contributing to the community in their own unique way.

Contributor Badge Requirements:

  1. Be a member of the Fans of IBM zSystems Hub on IBM Z and LinuxONE Community AND
  2. Achieve at least two of the following tasks within a calendar year:
    • Empower at least one additional colleague/friend to join as a member of the Fans of IBM zSystems Hub so they can share their voice too!
    • Share your knowledge and expertise with the community. More details, ideas and tips in this guide but here are some easy ways to get started:
    • Share your voice – Create at least one blog post on IBM zSystem and LinuxONE community.
    • Create 1 LinkedIn post about IBM Z Xplore Learning Platform (social kit available here)
    • Create at least one blog post or article on online forums such as IBM Developer, Medium, LinkedIn, etc.
    • Translate at least one technical content piece from English to regional languages or vice versa.
    • Mentor at least one New to IBM zSystems community member and have them join the New to IBM zSystems user.
    • Mentor at least one student and have them join the IBM zSystems Global Student hub.

Level 2

IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Advocate

The IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Advocate badge earner has actively contributed to the IBM Z and LinuxONE community and has expressed interest in continuing to do so. This individual is in good standing with their IBM zSystems and LinuxONE peers and is passionate about taking their advocacy to the next level. The badge earner has expert skills in IBM zSystems and LinuxONE and can be expected to regularly contribute technical knowledge to the community.

Advocate Badge Requirements:

  1. Must have achieved the IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Contributor Badge (Level 1) AND
  2. Achieve at least three of the following tasks within a calendar year:
    • Create at least one or more blog post or article on online forums such as IBM Z and LinuxONE Community, IBM Developer, Medium, LinkedIn, etc.
    • Present at least one or more sessions on IBM zSystems or LinuxONE at user groups, webinars, podcasts or industry events such as IBM Systems TechU, SHARE, THINK, etc.
    • Host or facilitate at least one or more IBM zSystems or LinuxONE related face to face events or virtual events such as webinars, meetups, etc.
    • Moderate discussions / respond to questions for at least one or more months on forums such as IBM Z and LinuxONE Community, Stack Overflow, Reddit, etc.
    • Mentor at least one or more New to IBM zSystems community members and / or students and have them join the IBM Z and LinuxONE community
    • Translate at least one or more technical content piece from English to regional languages or vice versa.
    • Create and/or teach one or more IBM zSystems or LinuxONE related course.
    • Contribute code to at least one or more IBM zSystems or LinuxONE open-source project such as Open Mainframe Project.
    • Empower at least three additional colleagues/friends as members on the Fans of IBM zSystems Hub on IBM Z and LinuxONE community to share their voice!
    • Other opportunities you can contribute in this guide.

Level 3

IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Influencer

The IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Influencer badge earner is an active and passionate member of the IBM Z and LinuxONE Community. They are a thought leader and viewed as a technical expert by their peers. This individual contributes to the community regularly.

Influencer Badge Requirements:

  1. Must have achieved the IBM Z and LinuxONE Community Advocate Badge (Level 2) AND
  2. Achieve at least four of the following tasks within a calendar year:
    • Create at least one or more blog post or article on online forums such as IBM zSystems and LinuxONE Community, IBM Developer, Medium, LinkedIn, etc.
    • Present at least one or more sessions on IBM zSystems or LinuxONE at user groups, webinars, podcasts or industry events such as IBM Systems TechU, SHARE, THINK, etc.
    • Host or facilitate at least one or more IBM zSystems or LinuxONE related face to face events or virtual events such as webinars, meetups, etc.
    • Moderate discussions / respond to questions for at least one or more months on forums such as IBM Z and LinuxONE Community, Stack Overflow, Reddit, etc.
    • Mentor at least one or more New to IBM zSystems community members and / or students and have them join the IBM Z and LinuxONE community
    • Translate at least one or more technical content piece from English to regional languages or vice versa
    • Create and/or teach at least one or more IBM zSystems or LinuxONE related course
    • Contribute code to at least one or more IBM zSystems or LinuxONE open-source project such as Open Mainframe Project.
    • Enable, engage and energize at least three additional Fans of IBM zSystems by co-creating content, co-presenting at events, etc.
