Description
BookManager BookServer products for Windows, AIX, and Linux
Version 2.3 (V2.3) provides increased capability over that of the
previous release.
BookManager is a family of products that provide online managing,
reading, and searching capability to your company's information.
BookManager's book metaphor provides an easy to understand and intuitive
model for readers who may not be familiar with online viewing tools. The
information is stored in a virtual library, composed of books,
bookshelves, bookcases, and collections. The books can be read with
readers on workstations, mainframe systems, or the Web.
With this new release of the BookServer products, you can now manage both
your BookManager online books (built with one of a variety of BookManager
Build products), as well as your Adobe PDF file books in the same
library. You will no longer need to have two different libraries to
store your information and two different tools to view them. Plus, you
get the benefits of the BookManager linguistic-based searching across
your entire library even the PDF files.
The BookManager BookServer products can serve your electronic books to
HTML browsers, on either external or internal corporate networks.
Compared to the use of standard HTML and GIF files in other Web
libraries, all BookManager BookServers offer the advantage of
BookManager's patented fuzzy, Boolean, and morphological full-text
searching across entire documents, bookshelves, and bookcases (not just
the currently loaded HTML file). In addition, BookManager's highly
compressed file offers the capability of storing much more content (up to
10 times more) in the same amount of disk space.
The BookManager Build for Windows product is used to convert your
documents from the following popular word processors into BookManager
electronic books.
-
Microsoft Word for DOS V5.0, V5.5, and V6.0
-
Microsoft Word for Windows V2.0, V6.0, V7.0, and V8.0

-
AmiPro V3.0 and V3.1
-
FrameMaker for Windows V4, V5, V5.5.6, and V6.0 (MIF format only)

they are displayed unaltered
