IBM Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting 8.2 Web conference and Event services are perfect for global enterprises with a need to conduct sales presentations, software overviews, training sessions, or general purpose-type meetings for audiences of a few to several hundred attendees.
The Lotus Sametime Unyte service provides a Web-delivered application and desktop sharing solution complete with all of the features of an on-premise solution but without you having to incur the cost and ownership of the IT infrastructure. In addition to the powerful Web conferencing features such as application and desktop sharing, chat, polling, hand raising, recording and playback, and videocasting, Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting offers an additional Events component that companies can use to create customized registration sites, advertise Web events, register attendees and remind participants, via e-mail, prior to the event.
Within the next few months, Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting and Event services will roll out several new features, including the support of multiple languages, making it a great value for companies looking to utilize a single Web conferencing solution in one location or across several divisions requiring multiple language support. With Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting, you can plan or start presentations on-the-fly. There's no need to reserve anything and presentations can consist of anything you might want to share from a computer. Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, PDF, and ODF files can be published by users ahead of conference time and reviewed by participants. With Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting, conduct Web tours, demonstrate Web services or leverage online content during presentations. You can easily share desktop applications for real-time software demonstrations and application training.
Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting service is flexible and security-rich. Joining Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting conferences requires only a browser and an Internet connection. Users can join from virtually any computer or Web appliance (Microsoft Windows®, Macintosh, Linux®, UNIX®, Solaris) and there is nothing for participants to download or install, unless they are application sharing, reducing the security and configuration problems often encountered with Web conferencing tools. IBM Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting 8.2 is a Web conferencing solution based on the software as a service business model. Software as a service is the delivery of application functionality via a subscription model over the Internet. You do not take ownership of the software but rather subscribe to a total solution that is delivered remotely. Software as a service eliminates the need for you to own and maintain the IT infrastructure. With the software as a service model, you do not purchase a software license and thus you are not responsible for upgrades or maintenance of the software application. The service provider has responsibility for the infrastructure and maintaining the service.
The Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting service is an Internet-delivered Web conferencing service requiring you to only have a browser and Internet connection to participate in Web conferences and Events.
