The IBM Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting service is a powerful, yet simple-to-use tool for displaying and orchestrating real-time presentations and collaboration via the Internet. It provides features required for effective Web presentations and requires minimal training and support. With the Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting service, you can quickly share content on your computer with people anywhere in the world.
The Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting service is reservation-less, starts quickly, and has a simple sign-in process. Presentations can be planned or started on-the-fly. There's no need to reserve anything. Use with an audio conferencing service is optional. The Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting service is useful for the bulk of those typical, one-to-one telephone calls. It's perfectly suited for ad-hoc meetings where simplicity and flexibility are required.
Presentations can consist of anything you might want to share from a computer. Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel files can be published by users with valid Microsoft licenses and reviewed by participants. In addition, hosts require a small ActiveX component to share applications from their Microsoft Windows desktop. If the component is not present on the host system, you will be prompted to download it. The installation of this ActiveX component requires installation permission. If system security settings prevent you from downloading and installing ActiveX components, you can obtain the component by downloading and installing the Unyte Meeting Options Kit.
Based on system configuration, a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) 1.5 or higher, ActiveX or Flash will be used for Participants to view shared applications.
Participants using Windows XP operating systems should install the latest service pack update from Microsoft.
For audiocasting, computer speakers or headphone are needed on all systems.
For videocasting, a flash supported USB Web camera is required on the host system.
Macromedia Flash 8.0, or later is required only if the host will be using videocasting, audiocasting, or recording functionality.
Macromedia Flash 8.0, or later is required for participants to listen to audiocasting, to view videocasting or as an alternative component to view shared applications.
The Lotus Sametime Unyte Meeting service is designed to work on public and private networks with firewall and proxy servers, and no special network configuration is typically required. Standard HTTP or HTTPS ports are used for communications between hosts, servers, and participants.
The Program's specifications and specified operating environment information may be found in documentation accompanying the Program, if available, such as a read-me file, or other information published by IBM, such as an announcement letter. Documentation and other Program content may be supplied only in the English language.
