CICS Tools V5.2 support the new features, resources, options, and metrics in CICS TS V5.2. All of the new product releases provide new and updated capabilities, many developed in response to client requirements, and which also deliver value to clients who choose to remain on currently supported versions of CICS TS.
CICS Tools give clients the opportunity to realize the full potential of their CICS systems, whatever their business strategy. They help maintain and manage core CICS applications more easily and at a lower cost. CICS Tools enhance DevOps initiatives to optimize IT processes, maximize CICS system availability, reduce total cost of ownership, and transform CICS applications to achieve greater service agility.
In today's world of increasing demand for enterprise service access from mobile devices, social networks, and unknown future sources, CICS Tools can help to maximize valuable System z platform investments and benefit from the latest capabilities in CICS TS V5.2.
CICS IA V5.2
Service agility and cloud enablement
CICS IA V5.2 now collects information about CICS TS V5 platforms and new views are available in the plug-in to view resource usage and dependencies by platform. This helps clients to build and manage a more dynamic, cloud-enabled CICS environment.
New visualization of Command Flow data provides yet more insight into complex application behaviour and system state changes. Visual representation of Task Control block (TCB) switches, CICS region switches, and CICS V5 application switches can greatly simplify threadsafe, consolidation, and cloud-enablement projects.
A new plug-in view for program details shows real-time, program attributes that are captured by the dependency collector, and CSECT and linkage attributes captured by the Scanner.
Affinity analysis is now available by using the plug-in for clients who wish to optimize workload management, to support growing mobile demands. Systems staff can run and save Affinity Reports, build and save affinity-transaction-group definitions, and deploy them directly to the CICS system management component, CICSPlex SM.
Operational efficiency
A new, variable sampling technique can reduce the CICS IA collector CPU overhead by up to 75%. New collector options will optimize the collector, enabling collection in production regions with less impact. When adjusting the sampling rate, the fidelity of the data changes. Therefore, the collection needs to run for longer to obtain the same level of fidelity. However, this is dependent on the workload that runs through the system at the time of collection. The amount and quality of data collected will effect the interpretation of that data. Further guidance will be provided at general availability.
Changes in CICS TS V5.2 to improve integration with CICS IA have shown an additional CPU reduction of up to 5% in lab benchmarks.
Data collection is extended to capture data to enable deeper threadsafe analysis. Clients who use the non-threadsafe, CICSPlex SM API can now detect when they are used in performance-sensitive applications. When an application accesses a remote resource, CICS IA now records if the connections are IPIC. This helps clients to target their use of threadsafe function shipping. The scanner also captures whether the load module is re-entrant, a pre-requisite for being threadsafe.
CICS DA V5.2
Service agility and cloud enablement
CICS DA V5.2 introduces a new RESTful API that allows the deep insight captured in the discovered model to be shared. For example, users of management tools such as service dashboards could benefit from the rich model of CICS and related sub-systems and their inter-relationships. Samples demonstrate the use of the CICS DA RESTful API in Javascript and REXX. The model is available in JSON and XML, so that it can also be simply viewed from browsers and mobile devices.
New cloning options enable clients to benefit from automation across a wider range of deployment architectures. CICS DA can now be used to clone CICS regions that are not managed by CICSPlex SM. This enables the systems team to standardize the creation of production CICS regions, and the developers and testers the freedom to create and destroy theirs. Cloning CICS regions to run on different LPARs in the Sysplex or into different CICSplexes and system groups can help to create test or high availability clones of production regions.
Operational efficiency
A new view can be used to compare key settings configuration across selected regions and highlight differences. This helps to ensure standards conformance and system reliability.
A new report that shows the usage of all TCP/IP ports listening on each TCP/IP stack in each LPAR can help with network planning and problem determination. This helps to avoid and recover from port clash incidents.
Cheat sheets are available to guide users through the upgrade to CICS TS 5.2
CICS PA V5.2
Service agility and cloud enablement
CICS PA V5.2 supports the CICS cloud with new batch Performance Summary reports for platforms and application.
- Users of CICS Cloud applications can summarize performance of these applications at the platform, application, version, and operation level.
- Delivers flexible customization of reports for new CICS Cloud metrics.
Multi-version application support enables fine-grained analysis of ever-changing mobile applications.
Operational efficiency
CICS PA V5.2 includes new capability to create list reports for CICS TS and CICS TG statistics. These reports provide a wealth of valuable diagnostic and planning information across all DevOps roles. The reports are simple and flexible. They can be customized to include the key metrics and the order in which they appear on the report. Powerful filtering capability enables selection criteria to be applied based on pre-defined statistics alert thresholds.
Developers and systems staff can now use the plug-in to view Transaction Performance Alerts, in addition to CICS Statistics Alerts. This gives easy access to detailed visualization and analysis of the complex metrics related to the alert. Alerts are linked to the raw performance list record. Standard layout templates select and organize the key information to show the type of alert from more than 450 available metrics.
New visualisation of the performance of individual transactions builds on that previously provided for performance intervals. This view includes pie charts and time-series graphs, context information about the transaction such as, alert, webservice and transaction context, along with transaction origin and previous hop data. Hover help is available in addition to detailed contextual help. This advanced visualization and guidance can help development and systems staff, including those new to CICS, to understand complex CICS performance metrics and bottlenecks. It also helps to identify and resolve performance issues quickly.
Statistics alerts are enhanced, based on client requirements, with a simplified way of excluding resources not required for alert processing. This reduces the number of false positive alerts that would otherwise require analysis.
A new Find command helps save time by providing a simplified way of navigating to and locating key statistics metrics when using the ISPF online statistics view function.
A new report gives details of all abnormally terminated tasks as recorded within the TRANFLAG metric. This is especially useful when transactions have been terminated for performance policy violations.
Views are also provided for the new statistics SMF records collected in CICS TS V5.2 that include DSA, Monitoring, and Dispatcher.
CICS PA V5.2 delivers significant performance improvements when processing SMF data and generating complex reports.
CICS CM V5.2
Service agility and cloud enablement
CICS CM V5.2 improves DevOps collaboration with new plug-in support for Migration Schemes. Developers and administrators can now use the same plug-in interface to manage configurations, packages, and migration schemes, that speeds up the application deployment life-cycle.
New support to manage CICSPlex SM Topology and Workload Management resource types allows dynamic mobile workloads to be quickly reconfigured. By adding audit control and lifecycle management for these key resource definitions, clients can integrate change management of these resources with CSD, CICSPlex SM BAS, and source code, change management. Management of these new resources is available in the ISPF, batch, and plug-in interfaces.
Operational efficiency
Deployment analysis reports are now available in the plug-in. The reports can quickly highlight differences between CSDs, between runtime environments, and between candidate resources in a repository and those installed in the runtime. This can help to avoid surprises and delayed startup during CICS Cold Starts and enables what-if analysis when adding new resource definitions.
New support is provided for National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP800-131A security standard. As part of the task to make CICS systems conform to NIST SP800-131A, CICS CM V5.2 helps to migrate TCPIPSERVICE, IPCONN, or URIMAP definitions to ensure correct attributes are set. CICS CM can also help to identify TCPIPSERVICE, IPCONN, or URIMAP definitions that need to be updated to ensure compliance.
CICS CM can also help with migration to IPIC HA by migration of TCPIPSERVICE and IPCONN definitions and ensuring correct attribute settings for these for the High Availability connections.
CICS VR V5.2
Service agility
CICS Transaction Server and CICS VSAM Recovery provide support for the replication of VSAM data for IBM GDPS Active-Active continuous availability. The Active-Active Sites concept enables two data center sites, separated by unlimited distances, to run the same applications and have the same data to provide cross-site workload balancing, continuous availability, and disaster recovery.
Continuous availability provides large enterprises running mobile and traditional workloads with the agility they need to respond quickly to major outages, while improving operational efficiency by effectively utilizing fail-over resources.
Active-Active Sites is a fundamental paradigm shift from a failover model to a continuous availability model. This concept is designed to achieve unlimited distances between your data center sites AND to achieve the recovery time objectives of one minute or less previously available only in a metropolitan area solution.
The previously available Active-Standby configuration that supported replication of DB2® and IMS data is now expanded to include VSAM data. Additionally with a new Active-Query configuration, clients are able to use the capacity in the secondary site, thus taking advantage of an additional workload balancing capability.
VSAM datasets that require replication can be defined with new replication attributes. CICS TS produces replication log records capturing the updates made to the VSAM files by online transactions. CICS VSAM Recovery provides the same replication logging support when the VSAM datasets are offline and being updated by batch.
The replication log records are used by InfoSphere® Data Replication for VSAM for z/OS which provides the cross site replication capability. IBM Multi-site Workload Lifeline provides routing services whilst IBM GDPS/A-A, IBM System Automation for z/OS and IBM Tivoli® NetView® Monitoring for GDPS provides the automation platform as well as the monitoring and visualization of key performance and availability metrics.
Operational efficiency
With CICS VR V5.2, it is now possible to unregister log streams from the Recovery Control data sets (RCDSs) without recalling the log streams, if the log streams are handled separately and use a logger retention policy.
The inventory scavenger now runs as a separate job, rather than running internally in the CICS VR server. The inventory scavenger deletes redundant data from the RCDS. This restructure means that if necessary the scavenger job can be cancelled. For example, if it is contending for resources with production batch jobs.
The recovery report that CICS VR produces at the end of a forward recovery job now provides more detailed information about the log records that are read and the actions that are applied to a VSAM data set.
The DWWBRC00 sample job is provided in the SDWWCNTL data set to run full recovery for selected VSAM spheres. Recovery includes CICS VR recovery job construction, restoration of VSAM spheres from registered backups, and CICS VR forward recovery.
Extended address volumes (EAVs) are now supported for CICS VR data sets.
It is no longer necessary to specify the DFSMS library SDWWDLPA and the CICSVR library SDWWLPA in the correct order in the concatenation of the LPA libraries to avoid a problem with duplicate module names.
Customization of the product after installation is simplified. A set of panels is provided to customize the JCL that is built and run by CICS VR. This customization applies to all users.
The attributes of the VSAM file, which caused CICS VR to issue a request, is now included in the messages so that the VSAM file attributes can be seen.
The transactions IDs DWWD, DWWE, and DWWX are changed to CVRD, CVRE, and CVRX respectively, to be used exclusively by CICS VR.
CICS VR is enhanced to facilitate coexistence during the period of upgrade from one release of CICS VR to another. The Batch backout utility can tolerate UNDO records that are written by an earlier CICS VR release.
Clients, who subsequently upgrade from CICS VR Version 5.2 to a later version, will no longer need to IPL the z/OS system, unless otherwise noted in the Program Directory for CICS VSAM Recovery publication.

Value Unit-based pricing
Value Unit pricing for eligible IBM System z IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) programs enables a lower cost of incremental growth and enterprise aggregation. Each System z IPLA product with Value Unit pricing has a single price per Value Unit and a conversion matrix, called Value Unit Exhibit, for converting from some designated measurement to Value Units. Most commonly, Millions of Service Units (MSUs) is the measurement designated by IBM to be converted to Value Units. Some other measurements are engines or messages. Since MSUs are the most common measurement, that measurement will be used for the remainder of this description.
Value Unit pricing offers price benefits for you. For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, the quantity of that program needed to satisfy applicable IBM terms and conditions is referred to as the required license capacity. Each of the various Value Unit Exhibits stipulate that the larger your required license capacity, the fewer Value Units per MSU you will need. Value Unit Exhibits are uniquely identified by a three digit code and referred to using the nomenclature VUExxx, where xxx is the three digit code.
Subsequent acquisitions of Value Unit priced programs offer additional price benefits. The quantity of each System z IPLA program that you have acquired is referred to as entitled license capacity. If you wish to grow your entitled license capacity for a System z IPLA program, the calculation to determine additional needed Value Units is based upon the number of Value Units already acquired.
For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, you should:
- Determine the required license capacity, in MSUs
- Aggregate the MSUs across the enterprise
- Convert the total MSUs to Value Units, using the applicable Value Unit Exhibit
- Multiply the price per Value Unit by the total number of Value Units to determine the total cost
To simplify conversion from the designated measurement to Value Units or vice-versa, use the Value Unit Converter Tool. For additional information or to obtain a copy of the Value Unit Converter Tool, visit the Value Unit Converter Tool website
Note that Value Units of a given product cannot be exchanged, interchanged, or aggregated with Value Units of another product.
To determine the required license capacity for the System z IPLA program you selected, refer to the Terms and conditions section.

Product positioning |
The mobile revolution is changing IT. For many years, IT faced a dilemma - how to do more with less. Now, things are heating up. The race for mobile-enablement will drive the biggest spike in application development since the run-up to the millennium and the biggest workload increase since who knows when.
For many, mobility equals novelty. Mobile apps do not just need to work - all of the time, they also need to be "sticky". That is having the ability to keep visitors on the site once they have navigated there and encouraging them return frequently. One way to achieve this is to keep on changing and improving the apps. Novelty may maintain interest, but it also requires development and deployment in time-scales previously considered risky when changing systems of record. The change in emphasis to IT delivering systems of interaction requires a new level of agility as standard.
Mobile apps also need to scale so that they are not overwhelmed by their own success and be available for world-wide use, 24/7/365, so their mobile users, and the business they fuel, can depend on them. As mobile workload grows, often explosively, additional system resources must be allocated in a timely manner. It is equally important that they be deallocated when no longer required.
The service agility features and further advances in the CICS legendary operational efficiency delivered in CICS TS V5.2, combine with CICS Tools to provide a cloud-like, mobile-ready platform fit for today. You may not need to run one billion transactions each day or 150,000 transactions each second, but you know that with CICS, you can. CICS users do that, and more, today.
The IBM portfolio of z/OS Tools, that include the CICS Tools and the IBM Problem Determination Tools, help clients to maximize the benefits of the CICS V5.2 service agility and operational efficiency initiatives. The integrated z/OS Tools allow all DevOps roles to work together to facilitate the development, deployment, and management of mobile applications and systems.
CICS IA provides the application insight required to identify target programs for mobile or service enablement, identify CICS application dependencies for subsequent cloud deployment, and better understand back-end systems. This leads to reduced risk enhancements. CICS IA also assists with cloud-enabling applications so they can be deployed more rapidly, and with threadsafe optimization and workload management to mitigate the effects of increased workload.
CICS DA includes discovery, visualization, and automation to simplify and speed up the creation and management of CICS infrastructure required for the development, testing, and production deployment of mobile applications.
CICS CM ensures that any necessary application and system configuration settings follow standards and can be audited, and backed-out, if required.
CICS PA provides offline reporting of CICS performance and statistical data to gain the insight needed to manage CICS mobile applications and cloud systems effectively. It is also used to enhance their efficiency, which is especially important when adding significant new workload.
CICS VT is an enterprise modernization tool that enables clients to migrate VSAM data to DB2 without the need to change their CICS or batch applications, and thus benefit from the many advantages that a modern relational database provides.
CICS VR provides the assurance that loss or corruption of CICS or batch VSAM data can be recovered from quickly, minimizing outages for critical applications.
CICS Tools, CICS Explorer, IBM Problem Determination Tools (PD Tools), IBM Rational® development and test tools, and IBM DB2 and IBM IMS data management tools integrate with z/OS Explorer to provide a unified user interface for development, management, and operational capabilities delivered by CICS and other z/OS sub-systems.IBM Explorer for z/OS (z/OS Explorer) is an Eclipse-based tool integration platform for z/OS users that enables the integration of a variety of offerings from IBM, vendors, or in-house, development plug-ins.
CICS and PD Tools Solution Packs offer a convenient and more affordable way to purchase key products in the CICS Tools and PD Tools families at a reduced inclusive price, while benefiting from investments in previously purchased products.
CICS TS Value Unit Edition is a one-time charge (OTC) version of CICS TS that allows existing CICS clients to mobile-enable existing CICS applications, without a major upgrade. CICS TS Developer Trial allows clients to explore the cloud and mobile features and benefits of the latest CICS release, without commitment or obligation.

Subscription and Support
To receive voice technical support via telephone and future releases and versions at no additional charge, Subscription and Support must be ordered. The capacity of Subscription and Support (Value Units) must be the same as the capacity ordered for the product licenses.
To order, specify the Subscription and Support program number (PID) referenced above and the appropriate license or charge option.
IBM is also providing Subscription and Support for these products via a separately purchased offering under the terms of the IBM International Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance (IAASM). This offering:
- Includes and extends the support services provided in the base support to include technical support via telephone.
- Entitles you to future releases and versions, at no additional charge. Note that you are not entitled to new products.
When Subscription and Support is ordered, the charges will automatically renew annually unless cancelled by you.
The combined effect of the IPLA license and the Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance gives you rights and support services comparable to those under the traditional ICA S/390 and System z license or its equivalent. To ensure that you continue to enjoy the level of support you are used to in the ICA business model, you must order both the license for the program and the support for the selected programs at the same Value Unit quantities.
Customized Offerings
Product deliverables are shipped only via CBPDO and ServerPac. These customized offerings are offered for Internet delivery in countries where ShopzSeries product ordering is available. Internet delivery reduces software delivery time and allows you to install software without the need to handle tapes. For more details on Internet delivery, refer to the Shopz help information at
You choose the delivery method when you order the software. IBM recommends Internet delivery. In addition to Internet and DVD, the supported tape delivery options include:
- 3590
- 3592
Most products can be ordered in ServerPac the month following their availability in CBPDO. z/OS can be ordered via CBPDO and ServerPac at general availability. Many products will also be orderable in a Product ServerPac without also having to order the z/OS operating system or subsystem.
Shopz and CFSW will determine the eligibility based on product requisite checking. For more details on the product ServerPac, visit the Help section on the Shopz website at
For additional information on the Product ServerPac option, refer to Software Announcement 212-272, dated July 31, 2012.
Production of software product orders will begin on the planned general availability date.
- CBPDO shipments will begin one week after general availability.
- ServerPac shipments will begin two weeks after general availability.

Terms and conditions |
The information provided in this announcement letter is for reference and convenience purposes only. The terms and conditions that govern any transaction with IBM are contained in the applicable contract documents such as the IBM International Program License Agreement, IBM International Passport Advantage® Agreement, and the IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance.
Licensing
IBM International Program License Agreement including the License Information document and Proof of Entitlement (PoE) govern your use of the program. PoEs are required for all authorized use.
Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance
The IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance (Z125-6011) applies for Software Subscription and Support (Software Maintenance) and does not require customer signatures:
These programs are licensed under the IBM Program License Agreement (IPLA) and the associated Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance, which provide for support with ongoing access to releases and versions of the program. These programs have a one-time license charge for use of the program and an annual renewable charge for the enhanced support that includes telephone assistance (voice support for defects during normal business hours), as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect.
IBM System z Operational Support Services - SoftwareXcel is an option if you desire added services.

Trade-in terms for CICS Tools solution packs
IBM may offer trade-in terms for customers who have separately licensed one or more of the individual products that are included in a solution pack and who wish to trade in the licenses to one or more such individual products when licensing a solution pack. If IBM offers such trade-in terms, then as part of any such trade in, all entitlements to the products being traded in will be terminated. In some cases, the entitlements to the solution packs being licensed by the customer as part of the trade-in arrangement may not be equal to the entitlements being terminated. For example, if the customer holds entitlement to 100 Value Units of product A which has been included in a solution pack, and is trading in its license to product A in return for 90 Value Units of the solution pack, then, in keeping with the specific trade-in terms, the customer agrees to terminate all its entitlements to product A (100 VUs).

IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).
Program support
Enhanced support, called Subscription and Support, includes telephone assistance, as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect. You will be notified of discontinuance of support with 12 months' notice.
Money-back guarantee
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.

Sub-capacity terms and conditions
For each System z IPLA program with Value Unit pricing, the quantity of that program needed to satisfy applicable IBM terms and conditions is referred to as the required license capacity. Your required license capacity is based upon the following factors:
- The System z IPLA program you select
- The applicable Value Unit Exhibit
- The applicable terms
- Whether your current mainframes are full capacity or sub-capacity
For more information on the Value Unit Exhibit for the System z IPLA program you selected, refer to the Ordering information section.

Full-capacity mainframes
In cases where full capacity is applicable, the following terms apply.
Execution-based, z/OS-based, full-machine-based: The required capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the MSU-rated capacity of the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.
For more information on mainframe MSU-rated capacities, visit
Reference-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of the applicable monthly license charge (MLC) program. This MLC program is called the parent program.
Sub-capacity mainframes
In cases where sub-capacity is applicable, the following terms apply.
Execution-based: The required capacity of a System z IPLA sub-capacity program with these terms equals the capacity of the LPARs where the System z IPLA program executes.
z/OS-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of z/OS on the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.
Reference-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with these terms equals the license capacity of the applicable monthly license charge (MLC) program. This MLC program is called the parent program.
Full-machine-based: The required license capacity of a System z IPLA program with full machine based terms equals the MSU-rated capacity of the machines where the System z IPLA program executes.
For more information on mainframe MSU-rated capacities, refer to The IBM System z Machines Exhibit , Z125-3901, or visit the Mainframes section of the System z Exhibits website
For additional information for products with reference-based terms, System z IPLA sub-capacity programs with reference-based terms adds value to the parent program across the environment, regardless of where in the environment the System z IPLA program executes.
An environment is defined as either a single or stand-alone machine or a qualified Parallel Sysplex®. You may have one or more different environments across the enterprise. To determine the required license capacity for each System z IPLA program with referenced-based terms, each environment should be assessed separately.
When a System z IPLA sub-capacity program with reference-based terms is used in a qualified Parallel Sysplex environment, the required license capacity of the System z IPLA program must equal with the license capacity of the parent program across the Parallel Sysplex. Qualified Parallel Sysplex refers to one where MLC pricing is aggregated across the sysplex.
Sub-capacity eligibility
To be eligible for sub-capacity charging on select System z IPLA programs, you must first implement and comply with all terms of either sub-capacity Workload License Charges (WLC) or sub-capacity Entry Workload License Charges (EWLC). To implement sub-capacity WLC or EWLC, a machine must be System z (or equivalent). On that machine:
- All instances of the OS/390® operating system must be migrated to the z/OS operating systems.
- Any licenses for the OS/390 operating system must be discontinued.
- All instances of the z/OS operating systems must be running in z/Architecture® (64-bit) mode.
For that machine, you must create and submit a Sub-Capacity Report to IBM each month. Sub-Capacity Reports must be generated using the Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool (SCRT). For additional information or to obtain a copy of SCRT, visit the System z Software Pricing website
You must comply with all of the terms of the WLC or EWLC offering, whichever is applicable:
- The complete terms and conditions of sub-capacity WLC are defined in the IBM Customer Agreement - Attachment for System z Workload License Charges (Z125-6516).
- The complete terms and conditions for sub-capacity EWLC are defined in the IBM Customer Agreement - Attachment for IBM System z 890 and 800 License Charges (Z125-6587).
Additionally, you must sign and comply with the terms and conditions specified in the amendment to the IPLA contract - Amendment for IBM System z9® and System z Programs Sub-Capacity Pricing (Z125-6929). Once the amendment is signed, the terms in the amendment replace any and all previous System z IPLA sub-capacity terms and conditions.
Sub-capacity utilization determination
Sub-capacity utilization is determined based on the utilization of a sub-capacity eligible reference product and machine.
On/Off Capacity on Demand (CoD)
To be eligible for On/Off CoD pricing, you must be enabled for temporary capacity on the corresponding hardware, and the required contract, Attachment for IBM System z On/Off Capacity on Demand (Z125-7883) must be signed prior to use.

Statement of good security practices |
IT system security involves protecting systems and information through prevention, detection, and response to improper access from within and outside your enterprise. Improper access can result in information being altered, destroyed, or misappropriated or can result in misuse of your systems to attack others. Without a comprehensive approach to security, no IT system or product should be considered completely secure and no single product or security measure can be completely effective in preventing improper access. IBM systems and products are designed to be part of a comprehensive security approach, which will necessarily involve additional operational procedures, and may require other systems, products, or services to be most effective. IBM does not warrant that systems and products are immune from the malicious or illegal conduct of any party.
