The IBM® automation platform, which enables clients to digitally transform their workforce with industry-leading automation services and software, delivers enhancements for the following content services offerings:

IBM Datacap V9.1.7 features intelligent information capture capabilities that employ optical character recognition (OCR), AI, and other techniques to identify and extract information from structured, semistructured, and unstructured content. Efficient processing workflows and tools are designed to feed and power business applications like enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems, as well as robotic process automation projects at high velocity and scale.

Datacap V9.1.7 processes and delivers valuable information to critical business applications across a wide range of industries, including:

  • Federal and state government agencies, to help facilitate citizen benefits enrollment, claims processing, permitting, employee records management, and more
  • Financial services and insurance companies, to help facilitate customer onboarding, new account opening, policy underwriting, loan origination, loan processing, and trade finance
  • Healthcare organizations, to help facilitate patient admission, patient discharge, claims submission, referral processing, procedure reconciliation, and bill processing, as well as patient records management
  • All organizations, to help facilitate invoice processing, sales order processing, employee records, employee onboarding, and digital mailroom processing

Datacap V9.1.7 has the following enhanced capabilities:

  • Enterprise manageability to significantly reduce development and operations costs.
  • Centralizes and simplifies application deployment from development to production.
    • Hands-off deployment of Datacap applications across Datacap environments.
      • Enables faster deployment
      • Eliminates manual deployment errors
      • Creates a repeatable process
  • Additional Datacap actions are updated to support 64-bit execution, and Datacap adds the ability to write your own custom actions for 64-bit execution.
  • Content Analyzer
    • Datacap Insight® Edition clients are entitled to IBM Business Automation Content Analyzer running in their own data centers or the certified Kubernetes environment of their choice.
    • Enhanced extraction with regular expression support, table line items in simple tables, and bottom-to-top key-value pairs.
    • Enhanced data extraction with OCR error remediation and data validation UI.
    • Enhanced machine-learning-based classification.
    • Enhanced user experience with integration to IBM Business Automation Studio.

Datacap V9.1.7 is declared as a long-term support release (LTSR), with product defect fixes and security up dates for a minimum period of two years with one year of extended support from its general availability date. Note that program defect fixes and security updates are only available for the two most current continuous delivery updates and all active LTSRs.

IBM FileNet® Content Manager V5.5.4 provides content service capabilities for collecting, governing, managing, and enriching enterprise content to be deployed efficiently across any cloud and within any application. This scalable solution offers capabilities for:

  • Content lifecycle management
  • Transactional content processing
  • Document management
  • Content federation and consolidation
  • Low-code content integration and application development
  • Information compliance and governance

FileNet Content Manager V5.5.4 helps increase knowledge-worker productivity with secure, mobile, anytime access across all of your content stores and fully integrates with your business processes. FileNet Content Manager V5.5.4 includes the following capability additions and enhancements:

  • Document storage support for Google Cloud Storage.
  • Accelerated deployment on Amazon Web Services (AWS) with AWS Quick Start integration.
  • Document retention controls for document storage on Amazon S3, with support for Amazon S3 Object Lock.
  • Highly efficient APIs for integrating content services into third-party business applications and processes.
    • GraphQL APIs simplify application development by allowing the caller to retrieve exactly the resources needed in a single call. This capability is ideal for web and mobile application development, providing the ability to:
      • Execute content-based and inner-join searches
      • Upload large documents
      • Create, read, update, and delete documents and folders
      • Discover metadata
      • Execute searches, and more
    • Webhooks enable developers to access and deliver content data to other services in real time, based upon triggering events.
  • External collaboration enhancements.
    • External users can self-register using their own identity providers, such as IBMid.

FileNet Content Manager V5.5.4 is declared as a long-term support release (LTSR), with product defect fixes and security updates for a minimum period of two years with one year of extended support from its general availability date. Note that program defect fixes and security updates are only available for the two most current continuous delivery updates and all active LTSRs.

IBM Daeja® ViewONE Virtual V5.0.7, the server-based document and image viewer that provides a lightweight HTML and JavaScript™ front end, has redesigned the user experience for an updated look and easier use and includes the following capabilities:

  • Enhancements to the user experience
    • Option to enable a new user experience that includes drag-and-drop in document editing mode, and a simplified toolbar layout with new graphics
    • Fewer dialogs shown when printing
  • Enhancements for viewing PDF documents
    • Displays the first page faster
    • Improved performance when zooming and printing annotations
  • Enhancement for viewing Microsoft™ Excel documents
    • Displays pages faster
    • Improved rendering
  • Support for saving all pages as a PDF when saving a document to the local desktop
  • New performance tuning options for thumbnails and PDF page prefetching
  • Additional keyboard shortcuts for Apple macOS

IBM Content Navigator V3.0.7 improves productivity and increases client engagement by transforming how content is accessed, delivered, and presented. Content Navigator includes the following enhanced capabilities:

  • High-volume streaming of videos with a connector to IBM Watson® Enterprise Video Streaming

    Note: The connector for IBM Watson Enterprise Video Streaming is available as a technology preview and requires IBM Watson Enterprise Video Streaming, which is sold separately. See the License Information document listed in the Terms and conditions section for more information about the technology preview code.

  • Improved performance when opening a document in a dialog viewer
  • Enhanced edit service, which is used to open documents in desktop applications, opens both major and minor document versions
  • Administrator option to disable the download link for the edit service
  • A new design theme that adopts IBM Carbon styling and provides a look and feel consistent with other offerings in IBM Cloud Pak for Automation

Content Navigator V3.0.7 is declared as a long-term support release (LTSR), with product defect fixes and security updates for a minimum period of two years with one year of extended support from its general availability date. IBM Business Automation Content Services on Cloud provides content service capabilities for collecting, governing, managing, and enriching enterprise content to be deployed efficiently as a hosted cloud or software as a service (SaaS) solution. This scalable solution includes the following new and enhanced capabilities:

  • Automatic, intelligent information extraction with the integrated IBM Business Automation Content Analyzer service, available as a technical preview.
  • Highly efficient APIs for integrating content services into third-party business applications and processes.
    • GraphQL APIs simplify application development by allowing the caller to retrieve exactly the resources needed in a single call. This capability is ideal for web and mobile application development, providing the ability to:
      • Execute content-based and inner-join searches
      • Upload large documents
      • Create, read, update, and delete documents and folders
      • Discover metadata
      • Execute searches, and more
  • API usage reporting enables easy API usage tracking.
  • A refreshed user portal.
  • Ingestion of content with IBM Content Classification for Files and IBM Content Classification for SAP.
  • Optional WORM IBM Cloud Object Storage configuration support to enable retention control.
  • Advanced administrative capabilities, including:
    • Add and remove groups.
    • Update membership through the user portal.
    • Govern user access to respective environments.
  • Integration with IBM Enterprise Records to:
    • Autodeclare documents as records.
    • Perform file sweeps using the new task manager.
    • Manage physical items such as paper records, folders, videotapes, and books. Enterprise Records stores the location and metadata about these items in an electronic record.

Processor Value Unit (PVU) sub-capacity licensing

This software product is eligible for sub-capacity licensing. Clients must obtain Proofs of Entitlement (PoEs) for the maximum processor core capacity available to an eligible sub-capacity product when deployed in an eligible virtualization environment. This is also referred to as sub-capacity or virtualization capacity licensing.

Clients must use the IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) unless they meet the exceptions described on the ILMT website.

Terms and conditions for the licensed product

The information provided in this announcement letter is for reference and convenience purposes only. The terms and conditions that govern any transaction with IBM are contained in the applicable contract documents such as the IBM International Program License Agreement, IBM International Passport Advantage Agreement, and the IBM Agreement for Acquisition of Software Maintenance.

This product is only available through Passport Advantage.

Licensing

IBM International Program License Agreement including the License Information document and Proof of Entitlement (PoE) govern your use of the program. PoEs are required for all authorized use. Part number products only, offered outside of Passport Advantage, where applicable, are license only and do not include Software Maintenance.

This software license includes Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance).

Software Maintenance

Licenses under the IBM International Program License Agreement (IPLA) provide for support with ongoing access to releases and versions of the program. IBM includes one year of Software Subscription and Support with the initial license acquisition of each program acquired. The initial period of Software Subscription and Support can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available. Two charges apply: a one-time license charge for use of the program and an annual renewable charge for the enhanced support that includes telephone assistance (voice support for defects during normal business hours), as well as access to updates, releases, and versions of the program as long as support is in effect.

Limited warranty

IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.

IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. For further information, see the IBM Support Guide.

IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).

Program technical support

Technical support of a program product version or release will be available for a minimum of two years from the general availability date, as long as your Software Subscription and Support (also referred to as Software Maintenance) is in effect.

This technical support allows you to obtain assistance (by telephone or electronic means) from IBM for product-specific, task-oriented questions regarding the installation and operation of the program product. Software Subscription and Support also provides you with access to versions, releases, and updates (CD releases, Long Term Support Releases, or fixes) of the program. You will be notified, through an announcement letter, of discontinuance of support with six months' notice.

If you require additional technical support from IBM, including an extension of support beyond the discontinuance date, contact your IBM representative or IBM Business Partner. This extension may be available for a fee.

Money-back guarantee

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with the program and you are the original licensee, you may obtain a refund of the amount you paid for it, if within 30 days of your invoice date you return the program and its PoE to the party from whom you obtained it. If you downloaded the program, you may contact the party from whom you acquired it for instructions on how to obtain the refund.

For clarification, note that (1) for programs acquired under the IBM International Passport Advantage offering, this term applies only to your first acquisition of the program and (2) for programs acquired under any of IBM's On/Off Capacity on Demand (On/Off CoD) software offerings, this term does not apply since these offerings apply to programs already acquired and in use by you.

Software Subscription and Support applies

Yes. Software Subscription and Support, also referred to as Software Maintenance, is included with licenses purchased through Passport Advantage and Passport Advantage Express. Product upgrades and Technical Support are provided by the Software Subscription and Support offering as described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software, and Technical Support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.

IBM includes one year of Software Subscription and Support with each program license acquired. The initial period of Software Subscription and Support can be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.

While your Software Subscription and Support is in effect, IBM provides you assistance for your routine, short duration installation and usage (how-to) questions, and code-related questions. IBM provides assistance by telephone and, if available, electronic access, only to your information systems (IS) technical support personnel during the normal business hours (published prime shift hours) of your IBM support center. (This assistance is not available to your users.) IBM provides Severity 1 assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For additional details, see the IBM Support Guide. Software Subscription and Support does not include assistance for the design and development of applications, your use of programs in other than their specified operating environment, or failures caused by products for which IBM is not responsible under the applicable agreements.

Unless specified otherwise in a written agreement with you, IBM does not provide support for third-party products that were not provided by IBM. Ensure that when contacting IBM for covered support, you follow problem determination and other instructions that IBM provides, including in the IBM Support Guide.
