IBM® Digital Business Automation on Cloud delivers a simple way to acquire and utilize key cloud services from across the IBM portfolio to digitize all aspects of business operations to scale. Capabilities in this release include:

  • Modeling. IBM Blueworks Live™ is a cloud-based business process modeling tool that lets clients discover and model business processes and decisions for their clients' organization. By using a web browser, clients can collaborate with local and distributed teams and access the tool from anywhere.
  • Workflow. IBM Business Automation Workflow on Cloud integrates the capabilities of business process and case management into a single workflow offering on the cloud. It unities information, process, and users to provide a 360-degree view of work. In addition to process management, workflow uses advanced analytics, business rules, and collaboration to drive more successful, optimized business outcomes.
  • Decisions. IBM Operational Decision Manager on Cloud is a cloud service that helps you capture, automate, and manage rule-based business decisions. It is a business rule automation platform that anyone can work with, from IT to business-line leaders. Users can quickly initiate business rule management projects at lower costs by reducing the need for IT assistance, and hardware and software acquisitions.
  • Content Management. IBM Business Automation Content Services on Cloud is a comprehensive content platform that meets many use cases such as document management, content collaboration, lifecycle management, document imaging, and archiving. Content Services on Cloud is powered with IBM FileNet® services and IBM Content Navigator for a modern user experience that is easy to customize by user roles. This is a flexible and cost-effective cloud service for new and existing applications.
  • Capture. Business Automation Content Analyzer on Cloud is a simple and smart cloud service that can be configured by a business analyst, rather than an IT resource. This service enables clients to unlock the data contained within documents that are needed to automate their business.

In the current competitive marketplace, digital companies use software automation to achieve higher revenue per employee than their traditional counterparts. Automation maximizes revenue per employee by reinventing the client experience while reducing costs.

FlexPoints

The capabilities within the offering are each valued at a given number of FlexPoints. Clients purchase FlexPoints in packs of 1000 and allocate these points across the capabilities within the offering according to their needs. Because clients' needs can change over time, FlexPoints enable a flexible consumption model for all the capabilities within the offering. Clients can adjust their deployment of FlexPoints among the capabilities in the offering at any time within the bounds of their overall FlexPoint entitlement, and buy additional FlexPoints as needed to scale clients' solution. This allows them to control specific capabilities today, and other capabilities tomorrow, as they demand additional or different applications. The FlexPoints, which are required for each capability, include minimums that are documented in the DBA on Cloud Service Description.

The Digital Business Automation on Cloud offering includes the following programs:

  • Blueworks Live is a business process modeling tool that lets clients discover, map, and document their processes. It is easy to use and accessible anywhere through a web browser. The cloud-based environment allows for effective collaboration in a way that is structured and usable by anyone in the clients' company. Tutorial videos guide them through creating and editing a simple process model. This allows them to learn and perform business process modeling in minutes.

  • Business Automation Workflow on Cloud is a new Digital Business Automation offering that integrates the capabilities of business process and case management into a single workflow offering on the cloud. It unities information, process, and users to provide a 360-degree view of work. In addition to process management, workflow uses advanced analytics, business rules, and collaboration to drive more successful, optimized business outcomes. Business Automation Workflow on Cloud provides the same capabilities that are offered in the Business Automation Workflow offering, all within a ready-to-use, cloud-based environment that is hosted in IBM Cloud™ data centers and managed by IBM.

    Business Automation Workflow helps organizations:

    • Design a business-friendly environment.
    • Easily implement changes for business agility.
    • Achieve visibility across end-to-end workflows.
    • Increase efficiency and consistency by reusing process components across multiple workflows.

  • IBM ODM on Cloud is a cloud service that helps clients capture, automate, and manage rule-based business decisions. It is a business rule automation platform that anyone can work with, from IT to business-line leaders. Users can quickly initiate business rule management projects at lower costs by reducing the need for IT assistance, and hardware and software acquisitions. It can quickly authorize a loan, decide on a promotion, or detect a cross-sell opportunity with high precision and customization. This service allows clients to remain up to date and aligned with the changing business objectives of the organization.

  • Business Automation Content Services on Cloud is the core content management component of the Digital Business Automation platform. It enables organizations to efficiently and securely manage large volumes of their content as they transform their business to significantly increase productivity and scale of their digital operations.

  • Business Automation Content Analyzer on Cloud is a cloud service that classifies documents and extracts business data to feed to digital processes, data science tools, and applications. Business users can quickly setup classification and data extraction from documents that reduces the need for IT involvement and to accelerate adoption. It can quickly find the data within documents needed to process an order, open an account, authorize a claim, or analyze historical data to improve process outcomes. This service allows clients to unlock the data contained within documents that are needed to automate their business.
