An 800 GB 6 Gb SAS 2.5-inch solid state drive (SSD) is now available for IBM® Storwize® V7000 and IBM SAN Volume Controller (SVC). This dual-port and hot-swappable drive offers a higher capacity option for high-performance environments.
SAS cables for Storwize V7000 expansion enclosure attachment to IBM Flex System™ V7000 are also available. Three-meter and six-meter SAS cables for use with Flex System V7000 can now be ordered with Storwize V7000 expansion enclosures.
Additionally, Storwize V7000 and SVC functional capabilities are enhanced with the availability of IBM Storwize Family Software version 7.2. Storwize V7000 requires IBM Storwize Family Software for Storwize V7000 for operation. Version 6.4.1, or later, is required for the 800 GB SSD.
SVC requires IBM Storwize Family Software for SAN Volume Controller for operation. Version 6.4.1, or later, is required for the 800 GB SSD.

Planning information
You are responsible for downloading or obtaining from IBM , and installing designated Machine Code (microcode, basic input/output system code (called BIOS), utility programs, device drivers, and diagnostics delivered with an IBM machine) and other software updates in a timely manner from an IBM Internet website or from other electronic media, and following the instructions that IBM provides. You may request IBM to install Machine Code changes; however, you may be charged for that service.
