IBM Systems Lab Services offers a wide array of services available for your enterprise. It brings expertise on the latest technologies from the IBM development community and can help with your most difficult technical challenges.

A small subset of the available IBM Systems Lab Services are being assigned feature codes to specify and further refine the category of service requested. These new service indicators will initially be limited and available only on the IBM PurePower System under Lab Services MTM 6911-300 in countries where MTM 6911-300 is available, and if IBM determines applicable, available and appropriate, IBM may use these indicators for additional IBM systems and countries.

IBM Systems Lab Services has new service specifiers for these categories of services:

  • PurePower startup with basic network integration (#SVP1)
  • PurePower advanced network integration (#SVP2)
  • PurePower basic SAN integration (#SVP3)
  • PurePower migration of workloads (#SVP4)
  • Transition of FSM to PurePower Management System (#SVP5)
  • Custom services (#SV99)

IBM Systems Lab Services has new service indicators for these categories of services:

PurePower startup services with basic network integration (#SVP1):

  • Provides an overview of the system components and infrastructure architecture.
  • Verifies system's operational readiness.
  • Integrates the system's external management network into the client's data center using client-provided network requirements.
  • Offers skills transfer on the system's management system, demonstrating functionality including hardware and operating system monitoring and the ability to provision a virtual machine with PowerVC.

PurePower advanced network integration (#SVP2):

Assists with integrating the system's servers in the rack into your data network. This activity may include integrating the internal management network into your data center.

PurePower basic SAN integration (#SVP3):

Assists with integrating the system's Fibre Channel SAN fabric and SAN Storage into your data center SAN fabric.

PurePower migration of workloads (#SVP4):

Discusses different technologies and options for migrating existing Power® System workloads onto new preconfigured Power-based systems. Includes skills transfer on using PowerVM's Live Partition Mobility and PowerVC's Migration functionality while migrating up to two distinct Power System workloads.

Transition of FSM to PurePower Management System (#SVP5):

Assists with transitioning systems management of FSM-managed Power System compute nodes onto the PurePower Management System. Facilitates discussions covering roadmaps and planning for migrating the monitoring, updating, and alerting features from the FSM to the PurePower Management System or other IBM solutions depending on equivalent functional support provided by the PurePower management system.

Custom services (#SV99):

This option is available for those clients who know they will require additional custom services.
