Effective February 16, 2021, IBM® announces an update to the continuous delivery (CD) support lifecycle policy for eligible on-premises IBM software programs, which is referred to as the updated CD support lifecycle policy.
The primary terms of the policy, including a minimum of 2 years of technical support and a 1-year support extension, referred to as the 2 plus 1 (2+1) policy and a Long Term Support Release (LTSR) option, remain unchanged.
The previous CD policy, announced in Software Announcement AP16-0255, dated May 24, 2016, has been revised to include:
- Program technical support (defect fixes) and security updates, which are provided in the next CD update package, available for the most recent CD update package, and for all active LTSRs.
- A notice of software support discontinuance (end of support) is increased from a minimum of 6 months to 12 months before the effective end date.
Programs that were previously announced with the CD support lifecycle policy, effective May 24, 2016, continue to be subject to the terms of that policy until a future CD update is announced, or until the program is withdrawn from support. Programs that are not announced with the CD support model will retain their existing support lifecycle policy.
To view the updated CD support lifecycle policy, see the CD Support lifecycle policy web page. For additional information regarding the updated CD support lifecycle policy, which includes answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs), see the IBM Software support lifecycle policies website.
To search for IBM programs or to verify the lifecycle dates for a specific program, see the IBM Software lifecycle website and enter the program name in the search box.
IBM reserves the right to modify this policy at any time and will communicate any modification and exceptions with a program announcement, a general policy announcement, a support flash, or another form of an IBM announcement.
