Overview
IBM Cloud Pak® for Data System is built on a plug-and-play highly scalable and extensible architecture to help organizations run Cloud Pak for Data services. IBM Cloud Pak for Data System 1.0.7.8 is optimised to run only Netezza® Performance Server workloads.
Current users of Cloud Pak for Data Systems 1.0.7.x with Netezza Performance Server workloads
Organizations that have Cloud Pak for Data System 1.0.7.7, or earlier, can upgrade to version 1.0.7.8 with minimum disruption to run their Netezza Performance Server workloads. Organizations continue to retain full support of all workloads running on Cloud Pak for Data System. The new version 1.0.7.8 is optimised to run Netezza Performance Server workloads only.
Current users of IBM PureData® System for Analytics N3001 with Netezza Performance Server workloads
Organizations that currently have PureData® System for Analytics N3001 can purchase Cloud Pak for Data System 1.0.7.8 to maintain existing business-critical Netezza Performance Server workloads in a stable high-performance on-premises environment. Organizations can move their existing workloads from PureData System for Analytics to Cloud Pak for Data System with a single Netezza command. All existing Netezza drivers will work unchanged. This enables organizations to redirect existing applications to Cloud Pak for Data System. This process can also be used to move existing workloads to Netezza Performance Server with data residency on public clouds.
When compared to PureData System for Analytics N3001, Cloud Pak for Data System 1.0.7.8 appliances provide the following benefits:
- Up to 3 times SQL query performance
- Up to 2 times load performance
- Up to 2 times concurrency performance than full rack
- Footprint 20% of a full rack PureData System for Analytics N3001

Existing Cloud Pak for Data System or Cloud Pak for Data System FF clients need to contact their IBM representative or IBM Business Partner to establish plans to upgrade to Cloud Pak for Data System 1.0.7.8 or 2.0 by June 30, 2022.
Red Hat® has announced end of full support for Red Hat OpenShift® Container Platform 3.11 on June 30, 2022. For details, see Red Hat Customer Portal website.
Cloud Pak for Data System 1.0.7.6 is the last release supported by Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 3.11.
All Cloud Pak for Data System 1.0.x installed appliances must be upgraded to version 1.0.7.8 or 2.0 by June 30, 2022, in order to maintain support.

IBM warrants that when the program is used in the specified operating environment, it will conform to its specifications. The warranty applies only to the unmodified portion of the program. IBM does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the program or that IBM will correct all program defects. You are responsible for the results obtained from the use of the program.
IBM provides you with access to IBM databases containing information on known program defects, defect corrections, restrictions, and bypasses at no additional charge. For further information, see the IBM Support Guide.
IBM will maintain this information for at least one year after the original licensee acquires the program (warranty period).

Product upgrades and Technical Support are provided by the Software Subscription and Support offering as described in the Agreements. Product upgrades provide the latest versions and releases to entitled software, and Technical Support provides voice and electronic access to IBM support organizations, worldwide.
Included is one year of Appliance Maintenance and Software Subscription and Support for each of the appliances and software licenses acquired. The initial period be extended by the purchase of a renewal option, if available.
