IBM® is releasing a number of top-of-rack networking switches for sale with IBM System x® servers and for stand-alone sale. This is the first of a series of announcements over the next couple of quarters designed to deliver a portfolio of access layer switches that will satisfy our customers' desires for choice, innovation, and value. The top-of-rack switches in this announcement were previously available as a component of IBM Cluster 1350™ and iDataPlex™ customer solutions.
The switches included are:
- BNT 1Gb/10Gb G8000 RackSwitch for IBM System x (0446-013 and -HC3)
- BNT Virtual Fabric 10Gb G8124 RackSwitch for IBM System x (0446-017 and -HC7)
- IBM Ethernet Switch B24X Bundle (0563-012 and -HC5)
These switches are now designated as customer setup.

|
The following switches, currently available only to Cluster 1350 and iDataPlex customers, will be available to System x customers.
The switches included are:
BNT 1Gb/10Gb G8000 RackSwitch for IBM System x

BNT Virtual Fabric 10Gb G8124 RackSwitch for IBM System x
-0446-017
-0446-HC7
IBM Ethernet Switch B24X Bundle -0563-012
-0563-HC5
These switches are now designated as customer setup.
Power cords must to be ordered separately with these switches.

When these switches are not purchased as part of an integrated solution, Cluster 1350, or iDataPlex cluster, they will not receive solution-level support.
