Overview
Effective May 19, 2018, IBM® will withdraw from marketing the following products. On or after the effective date of withdrawal, you can no longer order these products directly from IBM.
Statements of direction
IBM intends to announce a Data Deduplication follow-on solution for IBM i environments to enable disk-based data protection in small, medium, and large data centers.
IBM intends to announce end of support for ProtecTIER® hardware and software on or before July 2019. The effective end of support is intended to be no later than November 2020.
The following hardware and software is intended to be affected:
- ProtecTIER TS7650G: 3958-DD4, 3958-DD5, and 3958-DD6
- ProtecTIER TS7620: 3959-SM2 and 3959-EXP
- ProtecTIER software versions 3.3.x and 3.4.x

IBM Certified Pre-owned Equipment has the largest inventory of used IBM systems that are refurbished, tested, and warranted for a minimum of 90 days.
