Virtual capacity features are available for direct orders of Elastic CoD placed on the Entitled Systems Support (ESS) website or mobile app. Clients can continue to order directly through the ESS website with no changes to the Elastic CoD resources available. However, features used on the Elastic CoD order invoices will be changed to reflect these virtual capacity features, identical to the prior features they are replacing.

  • Supported IBM Power midrange systems: 8408-E8E, 8408-44E, 9040-MR9 for features ECM0, ECN0, ECM8 and ECN8
  • Supported IBM Power high-end systems: 9080-HEX, 9080-MHE, 9080-MME, 9080-M9S, 9119-MHE, 9119-MME for features ECM0, ECJ0, ECK0, ECJ8, ECK8, and ECM8

If installing the AIX operating system LPAR with any I/O configuration (one of these):

  • AIX 7.3 with the 7300-00 Technology Level, or later

Java™ is supported on POWER9™ servers. For best use of the performance capabilities and the most recent improvements of POWER9 technology, IBM recommends upgrading Java-based applications to Java 7, Java 8, or later, whenever possible.
