PLANNING INFORMATION
MEMORY MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUE: A new memory management technique is
available to OS/2 Extended Edition Version 1.2 and OS/2 Standard
Edition Version 1.2 users.
The OS/2 program now allows the DOS mode application storage
area, up to 512KB, to be swapped to disk at the user's option
whenever the user is not interacting with the DOS mode screen group.
By swapping the DOS mode application storage area to disk, up to
512KB becomes free for use by OS/2 applications. System performance
may be noticeably improved by reducing the amount of swapping
required to meet multiple OS/2 applications demands for storage.
The following OS/2 Extended Edition Version 1.2 publications
are available. IBM OPERATING SYSTEM/2 EXTENDED EDITION VERSION 1.2
