Detailed Description
When ordering i-listed RPQ 8A2315 the customer will receive 1 x
#EPXH (12-core 3.52 GHz POWER8 Processor Module) and 4 x #EM8C
(32GB Memory) at no charge when customer orders 1 x #EPXH and 4 x
#EM8C at normal charge, for the 8286-42A. This RPQ must be used
in conjunction with i-listed RPQ 9R3300 (which delivers 12 x EPYH
Processor Activations for #EPXH) at no charge.
Ordering Instructions:
1. Request approval for i-listed RPQ 8A2315 and RPQ 9R3300. You will
be issued an approval number for each RPQ.
2. Generate a valid new order via eConfig for the 8286-42A with a
minimum of the following features:
QTY 1 x #2146 Primary OS - AIX
QTY 24 x #5228 PowerVM Enterprise Edition
QTY 1 x #5899 PCIe2 4-port 1 GbE Adapter
QTY 1 x #EJ0P (requires EJTM-1.8- backplane and EJ0Z - passthru
connector cable)or 1 x #EJ0N (requires EJOS) Storage Backplane
QTY 2 HDDs or SSDs
QTY 1 x #EJTC IBM BEZEL + MISC HDWR if EJON is selected or EJTD if
EJOP is selected
QTY 4 x #EB2L AC POWER SUPPLY 200-240V 900 WATT
QTY 8 x #EM8C 32GB Memory
QTY 2 x #EPXH 12-core 4.15 GHz POWER8 Processor Card
QTY 24 x#EPYH One Processor Activation for Processor Feature #EPXH
3. Prior to submitting the order to CSO/BPSO, the comments section
must tell the CSO/BPSO to manually modify the order as follows:
- Add RPQs 8A2315 and 9R3300 and the approval numbers obtained
in step 1 to the order.
- Remove QTY 1 #EPXH
- Remove QTY 4 x #EM8C
- Remove QTY 12 x #EPYH, bringing total to QTY 12 x #EPYH
- Add RPQ 9R3300 which deliver 12 processor activation for
processor feature #EPXH at no additional charge
4. Submit the order.
5. Following the installation of the RPQ, a Record Purpose Only
(RPO-MES) must be processed for the affected system S/N.
The RPO-MES must remove both RPQs (8A2315 and 9R3300) and do
the following:
- Increase quantity of EPXH 12-core 4.15 GHz POWER8 Processor
Module from 1 to 2.
- Increase quantity of EM8C 32GB Memory from 4 to 8.
- Increase the quantity of EPYH (Processor Activations for
#EPXH) from 12 to 24.

Limitations :
- This RPQ must be used in conjunction with i-listed RPQ 9R3300
which delivers 12 x EPYH (Processor Activations for #EPXH) at
no charge
- Feature #0456 ( customer specified placement ) is not supported
on the 8286-42A with this RPQ. Feature #0469 on the 7014-xxx
rack is not supported with this RPQ

RPQ Warranty :
The warranty terms for this RPQ are governed by the agreement
pursuant to which it is acquired, with a Period of 3 years and CRU
and On-site Service.
IBM will not be liable for any loss of, or damage to, the Customer's
records, or data, or for any lost profits, lost savings, incidental
damages, or other economic consequential damages, even if advised of
the possibility of such damages. In addition, IBM will not be
liable for any third-party claims against the customer for losses or
damages.
