Detailed Description

  Description:
This RPQ will allow the Power E880 (9119-MHE) 4.0GHz system to be
ordered with lower priced Mobile-enabled processor activations.
Each instance of this RPQ delivers one Static processor
activation functionally equivalent to the Power E880 4.0GHz
feature Code ¬ EPBM, but at a lower price. This RPQ is only to be
used when migrating a client from an older generation of POWER
  systems to a new Power E880 (9119-MHE) 4.0GHz

  ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS:
1- Get client to sign the IBM Agreement for IBM Power Systems
     Capacity Reset Offering (Z126-6850)

2- Obtain approval for I-Listed RPQ¬ 9R7500. Be sure to include
both RPQ 9R7500 and the associated approval number on the order.

3- Utilize e-config to generate a valid configuration that meets
all e-config rules, including minimum number of active
     processors.

4- Manually edit the configurator output, adding RPQ 9R7500 and the
associated approval number to the order. In addition, prior to
submission reduce the quantity of feature code ¬ EPBM by the same
quantity of RPQ 9R7500 being ordered.

5- After RPQ 9R7500 is ordered and the equivalent ¬ EPBM activations
have been installed, a new MES RPO order must be processed
adding to the 9119-MHE configuration file the same quantity of
feature code ¬ EPBM that was reduced in step 4 above. If this RPO
order is not processed, all future MES orders will fail, because
the configurator does not recognize RPQ 9R7500 processor
activations. This same MES RPO order should delete RPQ 9R7500

Prerequisites:

   Prereqs:
In order to use this RPQ the client must sign the IBM Agreement for
IBM Power Systems Capacity Reset Offering (Z126-6850) which requires
the client to deactivate processors on their older generation POWER
   system.
The following rules must be followed when deactivatingprocessors:
       1. The client can deactivate all but one processor on their
system with a deactivation key. If the client wishes to
deactivate the entire system, they must enter a deactivation
key that deactivates all but one processor activation plus
they must also use the Out of Productive Use (OPU) process to
take the system out of service and
       2. The quantity of processor activations deleted must equal the
          following:
          - If deactivating cores on a POWER5 systems, the number of
cores being deactivated must equal five times the quantity
            of RPQ 9R7500 ordered -or-
          - If deactivating cores on a POWER6 systems, the number of
cores being deactivated must equal three time the quantity
            of RPQ 9R7500 ordered -or-
          - If deactivating cores on a POWER7 systems, the number of
cores being deactivated must equal two times the quantity
            of RPQ 9R7500 ordered.
The processor deactivation code will be provided by IBM after the
Code 20 date of the system that RPQ 9R7500 is being ordered
     against.
This code must be installed on the older generation POWER system
within 90 days of the Code 20 date for RPQ 9R7500.
A screen capture of the HMC displaying the number of active cores
will be required as documentation to verify that the deactivation
code was entered. The screen capture must be sent to
     pcod@us.ibm.com.

   Limitations:
     1. This RPQ can only be used by the BP Channel
     2. This RPQ can only be used in conjunction with the migration
of the application workload currently running on an older
generation of POWER system to the Power E880 (9119-MHE)
4.0GHz system that this RPQ will be ordered against
     3. All Power 9119-MHE orders can not contain ¬8453 -Base
Customer Spec Plcmnt- when RPQ 9R7500 is on the order.
