Enhancement for POWER9 scale-out servers
The PCIe3 2-port 100 Gb EDR InfiniBand Adapter x16 (#EC3E, #EC3F), based on the Mellanox ConnectX-4 Ethernet Network Controller, provides high-speed connectivity with other servers or IB switches. Each port maximum of 100 Gb assumes no other system or switch bottlenecks are present. A PCIe Gen3 x16 PCIe slot is required. The feature EC3E and EC3F adapters are electronically identical. They differ physically in their tailstock. Feature EC3E is low profile, and feature EC3F is full high.
The PCIe3 1-port 100 Gb EDR InfiniBand Adapter x16 (#EC3T, #EC3U), based on the Mellanox ConnectX-4 Ethernet Network Controller, provides high-speed connectivity with other servers or IB switches. The port's maximum of 100 Gb assumes no other system or switch bottlenecks are present. A PCIe Gen3 x16 PCIe slot is required. The feature EC3T and EC3U adapters are electronically identical. They differ physically in their tailstock. Feature EC3T is low profile, and feature EC3U is full high.
The PCIe2 4-port USB 3.0 Adapter x8 (#EC45, #EC46) provides connectivity with USB 2.0 - 3.0 capable devices. The USB adapters are electronically identical. They differ physically in their tailstock. Feature EC45 is low profile, and feature EC46 is full high.
The following PCIe3 2-port 10Gb NIC/RoCE Ethernet adapter (#EC37, #EC38, #EL3X, #EL53) adapters are supported only for migration on the POWER9 scale-out servers. These adapters provide either NIC or RoCE capabilities.
Enhancement for IBM Hyperconverged Systems powered by Nutanix servers
Rail adapter brackets for 1U and 2U servers (#EU0H, #EU0J) provide the rail adapter brackets to convert square holes to round holes and hardware parts to mount the 1U or 2U servers in a round hole rack. The rail adapter brackets can be ordered as MES only.

Description
Multiple hardware enhancements are available for POWER9 scale-out family servers.
Support minimal initial configuration with single 12-core processor for POWER9 S924 and H924 servers
The Power S924 server now supports a single 12-core (#EP1G) typical 3.4 - 3.9 GHz (max) configuration in a 19-inch rack-mount, 4U (EIA units) drawer configuration. All the cores are active with processor core activation (#EP4G).
The Power H924 server now supports a single 12-core (#EP1X) typical 3.4 - 3.9 GHz (max) configuration in a 19-inch rack-mount, 4U (EIA units) drawer configuration. All the cores are active with processor core activation (#EP4X).
I/O enhancements for IBM Power S924, S922, S914, H924, H922, and L922 servers
The PCIe3 Low Profile 2-port 100 Gb EDR InfiniBand Adapter x16 (#EC3E) is available for S922, L922, and H922 servers, and the PCIe3 2-port 100 Gb EDR InfiniBand Adapter x16 (#EC3F) is available for S924, S914, and H924 servers. These adapters provide high-speed connectivity with other servers or IB switches. Each port maximum of 100 Gb assumes no other system or switch bottlenecks are present. The adapters support the InfiniBand Trade Association (IBTA) specification version 2.
The two 100 Gb ports have QSFP+ connections that support EDR cables, either EDR DAC or EDR optical. One adapter can support either or both cable types. The user can choose to attach a cable to just one port if they want. Transceivers are included in the cables. IBM cable features EB50-EB54 (copper shorter distance) and features EB5A-EB5H (optical longer distance) are supported or their copper or optical Mellanox equivalents are supported. Other cables are not supported.
Limitation: The feature EC3E and EC3F adapters do not fit in an x8 PCIe slot. The adapters are not supported in a PCIe Gen3 I/O drawer.
The PCIe3 Low Profile 1-port 100 Gb EDR InfiniBand Adapter x16 (#EC3T) is available for S922, L922, and H922 servers, and the PCIe3 1-port 100 Gb EDR InfiniBand Adapter x16 (#EC3U) is available for S924, S914, and H924 servers. These adapters provide high-speed connectivity with other servers or IB switches. The port's maximum of 100 Gb assumes no other system or switch bottlenecks are present. A PCIe Gen3 x16 PCIe slot is required. These adapters are sourced from Mellanox Corporation, based on ConnectX-4 technology. The adapters support the InfiniBand Trade Association IBTA specification version 2.
The 100 Gb port has a QSFP+ connection that supports EDR cables, either EDR DAC or EDR optical. Transceivers are included in the cables. IBM cable features EB50-EB54 (copper shorter distance) and EB5A-EB5H (optical longer distance) are supported or their copper or optical Mellanox equivalents are supported. Other cables are not supported.
Limitation: The feature EC3T and EC3U adapters do not fit in an x8 PCIe slot. The adapters are not supported in a PCIe Gen3 I/O drawer.
The PCIe2 Low Profile 4-Port USB 3.0 Adapter (#EC45) is available for S922, L922, and H922 servers, and the PCIe2 4-Port USB 3.0 Adapter (#EC46) is available for S924, S922, S914, L922, H922, and H924 servers. These adapters provide support for USB devices. In applications that require the use of an USB extension cable for keyboards, use one feature 4256 adapter per port.
The PCIe3 2-port 10 Gb NIC and RoCE Ethernet adapter (#EC37) is supported for migration only for S922 and H922 servers, and the PCIe3 2-port 10 Gb NIC and RoCE Ethernet adapter (#EC38) is supported for migration only for S922, S914, S924, H922, and H924 servers.
The PCIe3 2-port 10 Gb NIC and RoCE Ethernet adapter (#EL3X, #EL53) is supported for migration only for the L922 server.

IBM Electronic Services
IBM has transformed its delivery of hardware and software support services to help you achieve higher system availability. Electronic Services is a web-enabled solution that offers an exclusive, no-additional-charge enhancement to the service and support available for IBM servers. These services are designed to provide the opportunity for greater system availability with faster problem resolution and preemptive monitoring. Electronic Services comprises two separate, but complementary, elements: Electronic Services news page and Electronic Services Agent.
The Electronic Services news page is a single internet entry point that replaces the multiple entry points traditionally used to access IBM Internet services and support. The news page enables you to gain easier access to IBM resources for assistance in resolving technical problems.
The Electronic Service Agent is no-additional-charge software that resides on your server. It monitors events and transmits system inventory information to IBM on a periodic, client-defined timetable. The Electronic Service Agent automatically reports hardware problems to IBM. Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to deliver proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent is made available to IBM service support representatives when they help answer your questions or diagnose problems. Installation and use of IBM Electronic Service Agent for problem reporting enables IBM to provide better support and service for your IBM server.
To learn how Electronic Services can work for you, go to the IBM Electronic Service Agent website.
